That's a good question, Jimmy, about whether the Slipper appointment will become a short-term win but a longer-term problem for the government.
I've been saying that Abbott is in strife for a long time. Not to take focus off Gillard, but because it's my opinion. (and now that of an increasing number of political commentators who have just caught up with the action).
I'm also sorry I haven't recognised the failure of Gillard in increasing her majority in the Parliament. Any more of this brilliance from Abbott and her majority will be 5.
In fact, you have been saying Abbott wont last long since the day he was appointed - and you've been wrong for a very long time
As much as I admire your ability to spin whatever I say into something it isn't, I said he was 'unelectable' when he became leader and so far I've been right.
I've also said he'll be chucked out by the Libs, when he was riding high, and I think I'm on the way to being proved right.
More to the point, I've been reading all year that the PM would be chucked out well before now and she's still there, with a bigger majority.
Andrew Bolt has told me that several times this year and he's always right
