Yep been overseas (It was fantastic too!) and I have avoided posting on this site for a number of weeks due to some d*ckheads having to bring in people's personal life or occupations into football arguements which in my opinion is not at all warranted but obviously Sydney-Dog can only punch below the belt although to give him some credit he was "probably" only trying to be sarcastically "funny" but it was a piss poor attempt.

P.S. Graham - I need some tips big time because the punting is going terribly especially relying on the family racing stable to get you any money!

Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

I was on the outer side at Prospect watching a couple of mates in the magoos and even though the incident happened in the south-western pocket, even from the opposite corner of the oval you could tell it was bad. The stupidest thig Wiggins did was walk off and through the terrace right in front of the grandstand in front of all the North supporters. He would've been better off walking around the boundary line and down the mini-race to the visitors rooms. He was asking for trouble walking the route he did.

Anyone walking away from their teammates when down by 100 points shouldn't be playing anyway. If I was one of his teammates I wouldn't wanna put my body on the line for him next week.

He won't be playing next week mate. In fact i'd doubt very much if he ever plays in the SANFL again.

Probably worthwhile remembering that one of the chief destroyers of West today, was at the club until a very well publicised altercation with Wiggins in 2005 - a point not lost on a number of West people (acknowledging there were a couple of others issues involved there)

It will be interesting to hear what coach Wayne Weidemann has to say on that question, not saying anything at all for a few days is a good way to start to let emotions simmer down and for the situation to be dealt with for the best outcome for the team.

Do his team mates feel that he has let them down and do they not want him in the side? What happens if his team mates are willing to let it go and to have him give it another go? Should the team & staff let that happen?

Ultimatley the decision should fall to the coach, he has to carry the can for the teams performance this season and is appointed to take responsability for coaching them in the way that he feels is appropriate and the outcomes that come from that.

Wiggins made a huge mistake, yet whether that is a career ending mistake or one to swallow a bitter pill and learn from is yet to be seen.

I think it was the end of him, every West fan I talked to today said so too. I might say it was the straw that broke the camels back but with this incident and the way he handled it, it was the 1 tonne anvil that broke the camels back.

Just to add,

It does occur to me that Gary Ablett was sacked from Hawthorn for breaching the clubs rules, he went onto Geelong to become one of the greatest footballers of all time, I am tipping that Hawthorn would not have sacked Ablett if they had an inkling that would be the outcome. Is Wiggins best football behind him or in front of him?

You're comparing Gary Ablett (arguably the greatest footballer of all time) to an SANFL reserves player in Wiggins? :?
(Hawthorn knew what they were getting rid of but looking at their record in the late 80s and early 90s I doubt they would have been too concerned)

Ablett played 6 games for Hawthorn in 1982. He went back to the country in 1983 and was picked up by Geelong in 1984. Don't think the Hawks could be too dissapointed though. After Ablett left, Hawthorn played in the Grand Final in 1983, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 89 and 1991. Won 5 flags out of that lot.

.......and the Cat's are still waiting with a 2nd generation of Abletts at the club.

How dare the captain of the club at the time (Dean Howard) try & instill discipline & respect into his team-mates!
