Definitely a big loss Rusty was a very well liked/loved part of our club. He's a great footballer and even better bloke and has given our club many years of great service. In the 5-6 years he spent with us he won a BnF and was runner up last year.
He has been basically the dream recruit both on and off the field he always supported club functions, helped with juniors and club days. While its disappointing he will be playing against us there is certainly no bad feelings from anyone at the club toward him. I look forward to catching up with him for a beer when we play Porties.

Good luck to my good mate Rusty. Fantastic bloke, great clubperson and an all round contributer. But, Lions to Porties? He must know something.

Would like to thank OSB Lonsdale for the hit out yesterday. Great day out and appreciate you all coming in for some beers afterwards. Good luck for season 2012.

Isn't this a football forum and not a place where people can make assumptions about others. This must still be what they call the silly season. Do we know who has trial games this weekend?

Christies Beach U/14s are looking for a trial game on the 31/3/12 @ Hackham.
All our other grades will be playing on that day and Hackham are happy for us to use their oval.
Please PM me or call Chris Faulkner (u/14s coach) on 0402 340 484 if anyone would be interested.

Thanks.

Its not a good league when
Reynella have 66 for u/12s 58 for u/10s and 50 for u/8s
and other clubs have none
feel sorry for the kids that get only 1 quarter
the league should cap how many kids per age group

And what's your suggestion on how to turn away kids when they reach their cap. I'm all for fairness and kids getting a go but they want to play with their friends/family or maybe even the closest club to where they live. Stupid comment

I dont know if there is any truth to this but i heard Brighton put in four U12 teams and were only allowed 2. Gee a lot of kids will only get 1 quarter a year.

Back to back U/16s premiers so I'm assuming our lads will be competitive this year in the 18s. Emus, Cove and Brighton always handy in this age group. Shoes would be pretty strong too I'd think.

understand both sides well
they have the cap in the metro leagues
my son wanted tp play with his mates at henley a couple of years ago and made their third side in under10
the following year they brought the cap in and he was told to go to lockleys which even tho is 5 minutes up the road is not where his mates were and quickly fell out of footy
a shame but i understand where he was coming from and also where the league was coming from
i suppose if the kids really want to play that much and their parents can get them their they will but it is really tricky
something has to be sorted so we loose no more kids to sports in general
i believ they use the same caps in basketball in the metro leagues
we stand as one
we fight as one
we win and lose as one
we are one

That's exactly what I am talking about. You would rather kids get lost from the game. Make a great culture and the kids will come, then their friends. Kids are there for their mates. So many get lost in the game in juniors you don't want to encourage it further
