We were beaten by 43 points yesterday. Kicking the last three goals in junk time added respectability but using a word like respect on this day just doesnt cut it. It was the darkest day ever for Port Lincoln football and a real cheapening of the privelage to wear the blue guernsey. Players had 1 chance this year to play for Port Lincoln and the response was pitiful
A total lack of commitment leading up to the game, starting from the top, was matched on the field with an insipid performance, It was embarrasing to wear a blue t-shirt. Continual butchering of the ball and a team that lacked talk, spark and any commitment at the contest. The mentioned 'pace and running them off thier legs' from selectors prior to the game came in handy chasing jumpers all day and we even wore them down and got on top in the last 5 minutes of the game when the flinders boys had put the que in the rack.
The 'youth' were not up to the task and the 'second tier' players went MIA.
I will be calling for a total clean out of all involved in the match and harsh penalties set for those without doctors certificates in the future(2 game suspension). We need strict conditions and strict people running the show to save this ever happening again.
If we were paying $400 per game like some are on at club level, would they have played yesterday?

I welcome any feedback

Does PL footy really need the Tigers, after last years efforts I'd say no. It's a bye anyway, might as well just call the day off and go fishing!![/quote]

Clean out? Coach replaced for mortlock and the best player who was named as Francis yesterday not selected?? That type of clean out, or admin clean out?

What does the result yesterday mean?

With two teams again in June, the result means little.

That was pretty obvious media park to all that made the trip to Tumby.
We either scrap the inter-league game before Mortlock or have full commitment. Yesterday was very embarressing for all involved.

I did hear it was a pathetic effort with no passion. If no one wants to play then scrap the association game and give everyone a weekend off.

How is Mortlock going to work with 7 sides this year coyote ugly or media park? Hopefull not like the pre-season carnival.

Gives the gffl team a hit out, but how does a pecker or ranger teaming with a Tasman or eagle help for June?

bloody good then, you blokes have the wwekend off and we will go back to playing the other leagues who still do take it serious. it's funny it seems when lincoln gets done it's always about who they had not playing, never about the team they played. you don't think gffl didn't have players out? they had heaps out last year when we got belted but you didnt hear us whinging. the standard of your comp is by far above everyone else, always has been and will be but you should be talking about the game on sat and those that played, not those that didnt! maybe some of you will understand now how good brad hazelgrove is or crettendon or telfer!!

Well said DJD. Very true.

I thought the GF players were excellent, they played as a team and wanted to win. It showed clearly.

Hopefully LC & LD will do a better job!

I am worried about more than the game itself, The ones who did play cant take all the blame for a poor performance. The 20 blokes that pulled out prior, the team selection process being so late all led to an insipid performance and lost us a lot of credability, selectors and officials have to look at what happened and fix it. They must take some of the blame. The game itself was not worth talking about djd, it was club level standard. The only player that could hold his head up was Francis, he is the only one worth talking about the others were doing circle work all day.
I thought there were to many cooks in the kitchen and the kids were left on the bench for to long when the game was over. Why leave J Burgoyne, Owen on the field who were doing nothing and give Gooder and Dunn very limited opportunity in the last term?

Congratulations to the Great Flinders side for a strong win against a combined side from Lincoln.
Who played who didnt etc etc is irrelevant the score is on the board.
Is interleague/Mortlock Shield relevant ask the players, I am sure that those who played would say
yes as for those who didnt maybe the long weekend in June will reveal a fair bit.

IMO the eastern eyre team that played on sat would have been beaten by a full strength ports, kimba, or er side, but I give credit to those who made the long trip to ceduna, imagine what the plfl side would look like if they had to travel that far!!
