I have been told a player walked into Nairne earlier this year (he moved into the town but is about to move back to the city) and just before round 1 signed a 2011 (not 2012) contract for minimal money, and was never given a copy of the contract. Because he is moving back to the city, and didn't really enjoy playing in the Hills, he has asked for a clearance back to his old club in amateur league. Nairne have refused his clearance & are happy for him to stay out of footy for this year. Is this what Community footy is about? If any player isn't happy at your club would you hold up a clearance if not playing in the same competition? Just curious..I know there is a contract signed but is that what it's really about, given Nairne spent no time recruiting him because he just walked into the club?

If he was willing to hand back any money he received then I would clear him. but when you sign a contract and you are willing to take money off a club for playing football, then you have to accept some level of responsibility which means seeing out the contract.
Nairne could've used that money to recruit another player at the start of the year had they known, and they've got buckley's chance of trying to recruit a player at this stage of the season to cover him.

What about if it is the other way around? Clubs shouldn't be so foolish to throw dollars at a bloke who wanders in off the street

Does anyone here want to tip an upset come finals time? Echunga out in straight sets? Kersbrook to miss GF? Birdwood to play Nairne?
Also is it true that Kangarilla are stacking their B'Grade??
