I must point out it is short term at this stage, and I do have a very clear plan.
Hope the Mrs deals with it though, took awhile to get her blessing, and having her sister move in helps with loneliness.
Anyway we want kids in approx 2yrs and in this day and age it is very hard for a gen Yer on average income to live in middle class or higher on one income so just gotta do what you need to do.
Wish me luck!!

So they are grossing over $5000 per week??
I often laugh when i hear the amounts people say you can earn in the mines. Been there, although about 10years ago. The money is good but when you work out you are doing 70-80hrs a week, then not getting paid on your time off it isnt as great as it seems. Also from my experience there was a lot of work getting subcontracted out to smaller companies so unless you were working for BHP or SANTOS or another major company you usually ended up getting shafted. Just my thoughts, it may have changed or i was in the wrong places

your not paying for any of that while you are away. Except the alcohol but most places now only allow to buy 4 a day and they are usually cheap. very easy to save 6 figures a year.

I say good on you guys for doing this work but i am trying to be realistic because i have heard all this many times before.
You would have to be earning atleast $150,000 a year and save every cent after tax to save 6 figures. To say you could easily save 6 figures is something i dont believe. Everyone has insurances to pay, phone bills, utilities, rent, vehicle expenses, food, holidays etc when you are on your time off.
Will be good to hear an update in 3months or so to see if it turned out how you had planned. Once again im not having a go at you guys, i admire your plans but im just trying to give another perspective.
