The decision to move Young has angered not only North - the NAFC and the League have been very diplomatic re public statements but behind closed doors a much different matter. At least he is of League standard and wont be gifted a game lke D. Butcher who lets face it has many wondering why he was drafted - obvious really, to hold his brothers hand so he didnt get homesick!
This under handed "one club" action is ensuring the Magpies won't survive at League level! Power Reserves can wear B&W it will be a reminder for the rest of us to continue to hate the club!
By the way be my fading memory - North must be leading the SANFL in the list of most players moved to another club - from meory I can only recall Tom Gilligan moved by the Crows and that was to the Magpies too. He was no loss either but it the principal of the matter is what really pisses me off about the current AFL distribution and total control of players!

Are we meant to believe that a player who did not play SANFL reserves last year, who played very good SANFL football last year, who was an emergency for the Round 1 AFL match last week, is not good enough to play SANFL league for a middle of the road SANFL club? Bull shit. North playing funny buggers and now people are whinging (again) about a player moving. So we bloody should move him.
Personally, the SANFL clubs are making it clear they dont want Port listed players and are essentially saying yes, have your club as the AFL reserves team.
I think most are whinging that every power player that has to moves clubs is automatically going straight to the magpies

so going by that you are saying north adelaide is at afl level?

What happens if he was coming back from a long term injury and needed match fitness half way through a home and away season season? Other than the top players at each club most have a run in the ressies first?

I think its the principle that pisses most people off.
Sometimes players have to do the hard yards in the Ressies, they are not an automatic league selection just because they get drafted to an AFL side.

Playing young in the SANFL reserves when he is fit and in form is a joke.

Really - so gifting the likes of Butcher and Newton League games when their form or ability doesn't deserve it is good - giving players false hope and exposing them at the level they are really are at! Even the Magpie / Power people on TPFP are questioning the gifting of games. I would expect them on your rationale to both make their AFL debuts this year because that would be the ultimate development regardless if they deserve it or not! Let's see Port preactice what they preach and whinge about!

It was actually Port that demanded to stay in the SANFL in their submission for the sub-licence during the tendering process. Keep trying to rewrite history.
beenreal wrote:It was the SANFL Commission that demanded the winning bidder maintain a presence in the competition as part of the Tender process. Port Adelaide supported that as part of their submission.

Well why did Port stand him out of the finals for North last year with a hamstring injury but allow him to risk it further by not playing but taking part in the GF Sprint Relays. I have yet to hear comment or any reasonable explanation as to the double standard Port employed there!
