According to the table on this thread South & Glenelg are the 2 worst performed teams since 1991 and South edge the Bays by 9 games:

Give in to the players and next they'll want a Keg supplied at half-time! If footy clubs were serious about winning they would all a 9pm curfew all season and a no booze or drugs policy for the season, and any player who broke it would be replaced. The problem is that all the blokes who would see the sense in the policy would probably rather not play footy anyway.

I know i'm in the minority as far as South supporters go, but i'd stick with Pyman.

The buck stops with the playing group imo.

I get what you are saying, yet I have to disagree there. Had the whole Pyman - Sturt incident not taken place at the begining of this season I would likely agree with you. Yet I was told that what happened was that Pyman was presented with an offer by Sturt and then went the club and made certain demands if South wanted to keep him. He had the club over a barrell and they caved in. I dont consider that to be someone that is playing for the jumper and when I heard that had happened was when I felt that he should be cut from the club at the end of the season, my decision on that has nothing to do with the current form of the club, rather the principal of what happened with Sturt.

Had Pyman not been reappointed we would have been labelled an unstable, coach changing rabble. On a hiding to nothing!!

Whoever can take our club to the flag will undoubtedly be some sort of a messiah.

Paraphrasing words from R. Pyman a few years ago "it's my way or the highway". Obviously the players still don't like his way, and it seems Mr. Pyman will need his UBD sooner than the players.

At least he told the club about Sturt's offer and gave them an opportunity to have the last bid or match the deal which is fair enough isn't it? The 'over a barrell' and 'caved in' comments are just speculation it may not have been as severe as that. Most times people just take the better offer and run.

Someone I know at my work went back to their current boss and told him about a better offer he had elsewhere .... my respect for that particular guy went up because of it, at least he was honest.

I think it's harsh to go anti-Pyman just because of something you were told - especially when it sounds like your sole reason for wanting him gone. The story might be right, but what if it's either wrong or been beat up a bit by someone with an axe to grind?

Don't take offence at the selective quoting - just trying to keep the post length down.

I would welcome him back with open arms that is true, yet in his case South did the wrong thing by him and is the club that owes him a sincere apology over it. Yet if he was willing to come back in spite of that, that would be great!

With the remark about the next coach being someone that has worn the jumper, I think that the last few coaches have been from other clubs, I think that this time it is time to look within for a change.

Schneebichler was Souths best player in his day by a long way, he has coaching experience also.

Luke Darcy's father coached South Adelaide in the late 1960's, his family are well attatched to the club. He is a great player for the Western Bulldogs and I think he would be a huge asset for South if we could manage to convince him to take it on.

I was speaking to a guy who was at Gaza when Anderson was there and said that he wasn't a great coach. I dunno, I wasnt' there, but you'd think if someone within the club at A1 level thought he was ordinary, then he might've struggled at league level.

For mine, I would think a South legend needs to go back to the club and coach. I dunno who that is, but like people said, they need someone who commands respect. As a Carlton supporter, I can't believe the way McGrath and Prendergast are playing. They (as a team) look unfit and disinterested on yesterday's performance.

Coaching Amateurs, even A1 is a lot different to SANFL league footy. Ditto up to AFL footy. Just ask the Weed!

As a fellow Carlton supporter, I can believe the way they are playing. I could not believe anyone at SANFL level would chase Prendergast. I do not recall too many good games that he played for Carlton, and he had lots of chances. Must admit when I saw him line up on Chambers I thought there might be a day out happening here. And he did not disappoint me...
