Let's be honest Wedgie. Half of those penalties didn't even deserve 7 metres... I agree with the point you're making but was a bit disappointed by how readily the umps dished them out...
As for the game, I think the Blues proved that they will have what it takes to do what's required in the major round. North got blown away in the third quarter but I don't agree that it was ever going to be a 15 goal margin.
Best game I've seen from Luke Crane (possibly the SANFL's recruit of the season). Chambo worked hard, kicked 5 and dished off a couple of others. I was worried how the back line might go without having Chaplin's size and composure but they all stood up. A great game by Whiteman and I was impressed by Wark at times. Feasty was back to his early season form and Sheedy was again outstanding.
I agree with what you're saying Purch in regard to the skill errors (on both sides). There were a heap of turnovers but in most instances they were brought about through pressure.
Hats off to Ben Hart (surely too old for such a stupid hair style) who showed he still has a fair bit of footy left in him (no way at AFL level though). He stood out for the Roosters today but just didn't have enough following his lead. From what I saw of Gill, I'd doubt he'll be playing for the Crows this year. He did a couple of things but overall was rather unimpressed...
Given North's upcoming games, I could certainly see the Eagles pushing them out of the top three.
As for Sturt, let's hope we don't treat Westies lightly as they're bound to be fired up over the Weed's non-appointment.
