Some people get in and stake their claim for turf up against the fence / wall. They'll lob their chairs, picnic blankets etc in their favorite spot and claim it for the weekend ahead.

Yep, same as the members area at the old footy park....All the grannies lining up, get in and spread their rugs across the seats

Rugs or carpet?

Claiming their spots in at the top of the general admission viewing platforms. They can't claim any spot for the whole weekend, only that day

I thought Melbourne was a thriving metropolis, 10:30 Thursday night and the Docklands precinct was dead, nothing open save for a pizza bar and Thirsty Camel.

Again, Friday morning, dead. Ended up eating breakfast at South Bank as there was simply nothing open in the Docklands.

Been like that for long?

Yeah, I could have asked Mrs Boon and mates Mrs to come along with us. Or could have stayed married, one of the two.

Surely if only men are allowed to post the 8 ball this will be tomorrow's Feminazi headlines

I just read a thread about traffic light gender issues.

Does the western world just have way to much time on its hands or has the world gone completely stupid.

Surely, seriously, people must have more important things to worry about. I could list about 700 without much effort

I don't have a problem with this, so long as the below gets changed to accommodate the dad's who walk their children to school...
