Was used in a heritage round in the last few years, with black shorts maybe?

Reminder me, no heritage round this year in AFL?

No, I don't recall any heritage round.

Same sex marriage

A question
If same sex couples are having children , should we be voting if they can marry each other ?

well it goes to show that its not about "children having a mother and a father", because same sex couples can have children, and you can have single parents too

A lot of the negative from what I can tell is from religious people, and people that have no understanding of the issue, and how it will not effect them in the slightest.

The worrying thing from this that I'm starting to see is, people on the YES side campaigning for attacks on people on the NO side. The advert that was put out wasn't great, but the YES campaigners tried to get one of the doctors in the ad fired from her job.

If you're the kind of person that tries to get someone fired for having a different opinion on social issues, you're a f**kin idiot.

This is how the Left Vs Right bullshit kicked off in the US. I think some people here (especially on the left) feel left out, and want some attention too.

Interesting question.
What about single parents? The child is also only brought up by a "same sex" scenario...just with one parent not two.

I've only worked at 2 different places in the past 25 years, 10 years here, 3 years somewhere before here and 12 years here prior to that.

Is it best to have 2 referees from my current company and one from in between or shall I go back further to my employee prior these?

If you've been at the same place for 10yrs, can't imagine a referee from your previous employer would be worth while.

1x from current organisation
1x personal referee i.e. sports coach/administrator

With a work history like that I'd suggest one referee from your current employer and a nicely worded cover letter would be more than sufficient, along with one personal referee, however, if I'm across the type of position you are in it's unlikely a personal reference would be contacted. Your potential employer doesn't have time to talk to a mate and find out how nice a bloke you are.

The thing with personal referee's is that of course they are going to make you sound like a good bloke, I'm not convinced they hold much value.

Thank you, I might go two and one though, a male and a female from here, and my employer from in between.

As someone who does read a number of references each week, unless they are 'highly qualified' personal references I tend to disregard them

Yep, sounds good.

My sister-in-law has been in HR / Executive PA roles for years and says rarely does she contact more than one referee once the potential candidate is selected.
