Talk on any country footy league or club from the SA Country area

Postby our_longreach » Fri Mar 24, 2006 11:00 am

btb, those were the days when you could buy a nag for $500 and work them through the classes....wouldn't have thought sandview or Ross Lyons' horses fit into that category...haje you need to get more hands on mate - they'll take your money every time so get you moneys worth and find out what the horse is up to..better still tell the trainer what you want to do not vice versa

Yeah BTB, my old man has been up there a few times and he reckons they were some of the best trips he's ever been on. There has been talk in the last couple of days of transferring our cricket wind-up to Penong since we found out she was running but unfortunately bit too late to get everything organised. I was just saying to grub that many of the connections didn't know she was to be running in the Penong cup.

So wce, you were a king who built a wooden horse that helped take troy. you married penolope, you blinded a cyclopse and told him it was nobody that did it

how the hell does this give me a hint to your real name?

Old Nonna was a pretty good horse. Ran 2nd in a Pt Augusta and Pt Lincoln Cup (behind Final Statement). Beat that horse on the Tuesday handicap in TR time, won a heap of country cups along the way. Was as tough as teak...would have given them a start and a beating in this years cup imho.

Perhaps he's married to a one eyed, blind horse called Penelope?

Not BA - I was getting to the point that I'm not keen on revealing my identity on a forum - thus the "NOBODY" comment - by the way - well done - no one knows anything about Greek history anymore...

Sounds like every club in Lincoln has now spoken to Brett Watherston. (Except MP)
So much for leaving Boston players alone and not poaching.
I guess if he did play for MR egg on my face, but can guarntee not me trying to persuade him. What was that club called again btb that WCP & I no nothing about as far MR recruiting goes?
Jarrod Doudle in for MR is a nice bonus that would not have been expected. Can Play!
Can report from Ranger training that it very young out there but plenty of talent. Probably will go better than I first thought, but depends how the 2nd year players go. eg Todd Owen, Brody Murphy etc.

WT a moderator, may as well give Martin Bryant back his gun license.
Cant stop thinking about that Penong meeting tommorow and how much I would love to grace it with my presence, can just picture the dust settled with an ice cold Northerly. Looking at the fields Gobobgo can sit in behind the speed of Flamingo Fire and finish best going on good recent form in PL, does anyone know the background on this jockey Ms M Allen? Race 2 looks ideal for Mulgundawa Lad and the only senior hoop Jay Burgess, also not sure on the background of trainer Jim Scott and his horses, is he from Country Victoria?. If Regal Farce is going to win a race or two in PL youd think it would have to do something in the Maiden with our favourite hoop 'The Axe' aboard. Can say the Axe is looking in great shape and is in peak condition for tommorow have spotted him at the gym on the treadmill and in the boxing ring, I can tell ya he hasnt been going there to watch old men shower! Still cant believe TA that you knocked back the ride on Captain Bob...lol
Just think Freak Out can sit behind the speed and win the Cup and Sandview (which is on its way to Alice Springs) has to be respected on best form.
Sunny Oasis is a MONTY in the last Class 2, started EVENS in the Ceduna Cup and will simply win, Simone will ride this a treat!
Could you give us a run down when you get back TA on the day at Penong.

Sounds promising biggles... but having 7 senior players at training doesnt get evryone two enthused, these so called 'gun' players need support and that is where the problem is.
Whats everyone thoughts on 16 players per side in the Bgrade comp plus 15 min qauters? If they are going to do that I reckon we should bring the goal posts up to CHF like they do in the U/10s.... maybe we could introduce an offside rule (come in handy against MP) or maybe a rule that you can only kick backwards? just a thought?
Anyone got any results from Penong that they can post, didnt see them in the Sunday Mail?
