Sorry city fans, I am with the country guys/gals on this one, it is a great time, yeah so what a bit of a drive and some petrol money to go to the bush to watch a game, hospitality is great, can't argue with the bbq's, fresh country meat, the beers ice cold and the time after the game is great. Hells bells, it's more of saying thanks to the country footy sides than anything, over the years I guess they have failed in producing footballers like Robran, Ebert, Bagshaw, Riccutio, Redden, the list goes on and on. Simple for fans in Adelaide you don't like it, don't go but I can speak from experience in saying you would be treated to a great day and evening that you may well never forget

Alternativley the SANFL could looking into changing from being the SANFL to the AMFL - Adelaide Metropolitan Football Leauge.

Considering that in many sides the number of players imported from other competitions outnumbers the players gained from the country zones, coupled with the fact that the SANFL is not interested in actually being National across South Australia, maybe the name AMFL is a cap that fits rather than the name SANFL which is clearly not a true representation of what the competition actually is....?

Exactly, this is why I scoffed at Wedgies argument that why shouldn't Port Lincoln stage games in Adelaide. SANFL is supported by and represents the whole state....take it to the people!!

Seriously though Im all for more games in the country, I'd like to see North play a couple of games at Reynella in addition to the 20 games at Noarlunga and Elizabeth the country people already get to enjoy.

I am not the one declaring that sides that other posters support are "sh*t" either. The analogy was supposed to be a polite way of letting you know that I found your comments offensive.

A number of posters here on SAFooty came from a board where those type of abusive comments were made until it effectivley ended the forum over there. I find your comment that you think the club that I am a member of is Sh*t extremely offensive and inappropriate for a forum that is about encouraging people to support the SANFL.

So if it is what you are looking for, no I wont take your bait and respond with a load of negative tripe about the North Adelaide Football Club.

Actually there's been a bit of personal abuse by a few people on this topic.
We frown upon that do ask that people voluntarily clean their act up a bit please so we don't have to be seen as being heavy handed.
If you disagree with someone, make your point but don't be abusive please.
Cheers.

I'm disappointed that South aren't playing down at Encounter Bay again next season. I took the family to Round 1 this past season and had an enjoyable day apart from the result. The weather was great, the kids enjoyed themselves and we all went back to the pub in Victor after the game for a meal.

Agreed, yet I am sure the Sturt & South members will be well looked after by the local pubs in Murray Bridge this year - they cater for the best Speedway in Australia, so I am sure a footy match will be yet another well run event!

Yes, that would be a good day out especially if they can do it over a long weekend. Take the board down and surf with 50 other people...aahhh the serenity!! Maybe Sturt, sorry Strut, sorry $turt, or the Toodles pips can take over the zone and make it a game of our own, I'd drive down for that one! Id even offer a ride to LEH and Rushby.
In all seriousness keefy, I agree with you, it's a good town and good oval. WTF's happening at Pantherland that this isn't happening this year.

FFS - I used the "word" to describe your club and surely not far from the truth in recent years???) - not you personally. So given you didn't like the "word" maybe I should have used a term like rubbish or rabble.

Now see if you can compare those terms in suggesting North and South are comparitive clubs - both presently and historically?

Now if you had used that "word" to describe the NAFC from 1998-2003 you would have been on the money however I must be far more wordly than you if you think that "word" is extremely offensive!

Can see both sides of the argument here, and agree that we shouldn't take football as the number 1 country sport for granted ... Also can't complain when a poster says he would prefer to be able to watch his team every week, as most of us would, and travel and schedules don't often mix.

Perhaps ALL trials could be played in country zones? and maybe 4 games per season proper (with 8 different teams involved once)?

I am guessing that the main reason for not having country games could be that with the drought alot of ovals would be very hard and dry. From memory last season Glenelg were to play Sturt at Murray Bridge in a trial and Glenelg didn't want to due to oval's condition - I was all keen to go mind you and had booked into hotel next to bridge.

Will the other 8 teams subsidise the Bays because our Country zone is (possibly) the furthest away?
