In response the council have come back super keen (maybe becuse we mentioned OH&S??) and would even like to put down permanent matting. Does anyone have any positive/negative views on permanent mattings from experience?
Biggest concern for me is the first couple of games of the season are traditionally wet at Hawthorndene.

Sahould be no problems except making sure it's dry for first game. Hopefully will have lots of bounce and sideways movement....
Heard Sheidows two opening bats both have broken arms too. Not handy when one is also keeper and the other a spinner.

So the cover will be covered in sand? Have fun getting that off without ripping the cover....
The problem with stuckdown is the bounce you get, steep bounce.I dont like them. The sand kills the ball and the first few games of the year are under threat from any rain.As wyc said though,no need to drag the stuff out each week.
