Think you'll find Kersbrook and other suitors may have been approached by Gums. I know Kersbrook's reply was 'Thanks, but No Thanks'.

If Brett was to leave, Kersbrook would possibly lose the best coach in the Hills, so naturally would weaken the Brookers. But he would leave Kersbrook 'A' grade the stongest in the history of the Club (IMO) and in the toughest I've ever seen Div 2 Hills (Country). But with players like Lees, DeLuica, Parasiers, Pearce Bros, P.James, Faruiga, Bingos, Hall still around, and with a strong nucleus of Under 10s and 12s coming through, and an Oval to play on next season, think we'll be alright and won't need any Black and White!

To survive you might be alright, but i was meaning being a contender in the A's. From what you posted, without Brett James i take it it might be a few years before Kersbrook contend for an A grade flag again. would i be correct?

Well Kersbrook have missed the Finals twice (Even then, they won more than they lost) in 16 years, which probably means they're been a contender most years, so it would be a brave person to suggest they won't be again next season, with or without Brett.

Kersbrook Vs Torrens Valley at Gumeracha - TV by a goal
Kangarilla Vs Nairne B at Echunga - Could be close than most think depending on weather Nairne have already played their best footy.

Based on your logic Meadows would have been a certainty to be a contender this year, having made the finals 7 of the past 8 years, including 4 flags, and two top 3 after minor round with 4 junior colt and 5 senior colt flags, including the last four in a row, with two undefeated sides. but im not talking about the last 8 years or the last 16, a lot can change in a year. The comp has changed a lot in the last 5 years, let alone going back deep into the last decade. Apart from their senior sides performances, Kersbrook must be in the worst position in their history. So im going to be brave and say without Brett James Kersbrook are in big trouble next year, as i see nothing to tell me otherwise. but Kersbrook do have a habit of proving people wrong, and if they manage to be a contender next year with everything they have had to deal with without Brett James, that will be a great effort. But if i was them, id make the most out of this year.

You're entitled to your opinion Bat Pad. But tell me how did Meadows make the Finals from 8th spot (2005) and this year? That's twice in the last 4 Meadows have missed the Major Round, which would be dissapointing considering the talent and juniors at their disposal. But in saying that, I'd expect Meadows to be thereabouts next season.

They recruited very well. But once the catalyst for such a recruiting boom left, they fell away. The reason they fell away is due to those talented juniors didnt step up and play good footy in the A grade, and many who had potential are now playing B grade. I see a similar scenario perhaps for Kersbrook, due to their situation with the juniors. Only time will tell. Why do you expect Meadows to be thereabouts next season?

Any side with 2 Dawes, Maidment, 2 Reids, Hunter (2 Russells) and with a strong junior program should be respected, and would imagine again to push for a Top 5 spot.

I agree, but i think you'll find not all of those names will be there next year. interesting to see which way Meadows go. In my opinion they should take a year of a little bit of pain and blood the young talent they have while perhaps not paying anymore money to the older players who they have brought into the club. if they are willing to play for free, by all means let them hang around, but i cant see Meadows being a genuine contender next year, and therefore that will be money thrown at blokes on their last legs as opposed to giving young kids a genuine crack for free and might hang around long enough to make the side a force again. and save some cash in the meantime

Huge Upset....Nairne smashed my mid season prediction of an All Blue GF. And what's more the Rams did it comfortably and have now set up their 'Dream' Final against GH Lions. Could Nairne make it 3 upsets in a row?

Kersbrook Bs into their first GF since 97. After Gum's upset win against Meadows today, could it be an all Northern Arch Rivals affair in this years B grade GF?

WTF happened to Kangarilla? B grades first loss for the year, and the As lose to Nairne for the first time! Too many injuries? Have the players had enough of Stringer? Will be interesting to see the ramifications of this loss at Kangy Land.
