I will stand by my post but after discussion with a couple of Edwardstown players, there is obviosly a lack of communication at the club and none if any debate from the playing group.
1) most of the players do not want to play SFL
2) They beleive that the President is the only one pushing the agenda
3)If they do go into SFL my mail has at least half the senior group would leave.
4)The SFL have a special presidents meeting on the 7/10/08 re Edwardstown.
5)I know that the SFL executive want Edwardstown 09 with A/B/18 to start off.
THOUGHTS??????
SB,
1) 12 months ago majority of the players wanted to stay in the SAAFL as opposed to shift to the SFL, at this stage only 8-10 senior players are aware of exactly what has transpired they ARE ALL IN AGREEANCE of moving south... The remainder of the playing group will be notified in the very near future...
2) Whilst the president has been a key player in facilitating the probable move he has been one of a number of people that have been involved, inaccurate to he is the only one pushing for the change...
3) This one is 180 degrees opposite of the truth. The senior group and all the players play for EFC not the SAAFL & not the SFL.
4) Yeah delegates meeting the Tuesday after the pub holiday where a 75% majority is required, projected vote 90-100%
5) Correct!!!
Plenty of disgruntled clubs in the SAAFL that are fed up with the league, I'm sure there are a number of clubs that will watch keenly how Edwardstown go [on and off field] and if it is positive may look at a similar venture. SFL could be a 20 team, two division format by 2012...
