flipper i agree but surely filling grades and letting clubs know where they will be is a higher priority than to keep paoc happy. everyone asks for specific games they are no exception.

The publicity will be great for the whole league! The SAAFL have a lot to gain by getting free (positive) media coverage and having a couple of thousand people to a rd 1 game. They would be fools not to try and make this work!

I really hope it is D Jarmen V The Roo

Will Jarman be wearing his raincoat?

Jimbo, If im playing in a fwd pocket i will need a rain coat cause it will be raining goals ;)
Honestly i have no idea if the great Jam Jars will play. He has not said yes or no. But Jarmen will only play himself if he thinks its for the benefit of the team (winning a game not pulling a crowd). I think hes holding out to see what the side looks like and if he is a best option he will play himself.

TT can you give me an example of another teams request? I would assume this game on Coopers stadium hadnt been thought up over night.... It wouldve been a long process and a lot of hard work and yes sucking up. But i also assume PAC wouldve had a deadline to get back to Coopers Stadium to lock away a date. Did they see PAC name and jump through hoops NO. They made them play their finals at Theb oval last year and that alone probably cost them a GF spot. Come on boys lets be realistic.

IF dont get your knickers in a knot i shouldve said GF spot Portland were definatly the best team in Div 4 last year. But thats not that point im trying to make im trying to say college teams dont get treated any different from suburban clubs and by having to play finals at Theb and not home ground they were disadvantaged. I do honestly believe if PAC played Mitcham (in the same final/conditions) at their home ground 7 out of 10 times they wouldve won that game. Cant knock home ground advantage. Seriously.

I agree that home ground would have had an advantage
they didnt desere the home final against mitcham though!
i believe the prelim is always played at a mutual ground, i could be wrong though
so really there is no nickers in a knot!

i remember in 2004 North Haven played a final at old Panther Park against either Rosewater or Fitzroy...but another year we played CBC at their ground...so not too sure when a neutral ground is used...

you can buy a prelim final if your pozzie is above the side your playing....thebby is a great oval but still two sides had to play there so no advant to either club.......

Neutral grounds are used when the home club can't afford to host the final at home, I think it costs about $1000.

Or if the club that has earnt the right to host the finals doesn't have West End on tap in their club.
