If enthusiasm counts for anything, the Gumeracha Football Club is already well on the way towards producing an improved performance over the 2009 Hills League Country Division season. The northern Magpies appear well advanced in planning to resurrect their fortunes through the appointment of David Thompson as A-grade coach. The 34-year-old will have a solid background of playing experience to assist in his quest to lift the Magpies from the lower end of the division's rankings.
Thompson played in SANFL ranks at Under 17, Under 19 and Reserves level for Central District, before enjoying a successful stint in SA country football circles, including the former Laura-Wirrabara club, Ardrossan, and Spencer Gulf League club Solomontown, where as a key forward, he kicked a century of goals in 2005. In 2006, Thompson played in Amateur League ranks for Central United, which claimed an undefeated premiership. An applicant for Gumeracha's coaching role last season, Thompson who was ultimately pipped for the job by short-term appointee Brett Kent, opted to spend 2008 acting in an assistant coaching position at Central United. Now, belatedly gaining the nod at Gumeracha, Thompson is keenly facing
his maiden venture as an A-grade coach.

Geez, is there anyone left out around Eastern Park & Central United to make up at least 1 team between them?
What happened at EP to lose all those guys in one hit, did Boozehound flash his 'snag' at someone's girlfriend or something?

Talking about BH, he's gone missing, where the hell is he?
Maybe the Police Force has had all their computers stolen, whilst they were sitting at them.
I hope he hasn't gone camping with Terminator, now wouldn't that be a match made in heaven!

hey all well i drove over for the day and watched them and it was a great hit out from both sides, wallaroo should be a lot better side this ear as they had 8-10new players in there Agrade side.Wallaroo finished off good when they had the ball but maccy had it pretty much most of the day could have been a bad day for wallaroo lucky the maccy boys didnt convert better or it would have been over by the second quarter. Good to see maccy boys new recruits have blended in very quickly and the locals boys are enjoying having them there to.
wallaroo were pretty much full strength
maccy were missing 9 players in the A grade which will come back this week and play in A grade for sure so good to c that the club as is getting back on there feet and being competive between the players and hopefully it will take it out on the field in round 1 and go from there.
good luck to the wallaroo boys for the year

Of course you drove over ducks, you're the coach and they needed directions. Firstly to find Wallaroo and then to find the pill!

By the look of some of the Ins for the season I rekon Nairne will be the biggest mover of the season with ash manual and fisher quality players into the team. A top 3 finish for them, replacing Kangy, with Kersbrook remaining strong and TV splashing the cash. Any other thoughts??

You're kidding aren't you? Ash is nearly as old and fat as me. What's he going to do, stand in a forward pocket and expect everyone to kick it to him. He certainly won't be able to chase anyone so the kicks better be spot on all the time.
