Crazy season for Spurs fans. Have spent the whole season worried about going down and now here we are 3 points from seventh spot.

If Sunderland could win this week a Spurs victory would go a long way to puting Newcastle down. :)

Spurs fans can thank Arry for saving their bacon this year. Even though, after his piss weak remarks at Turf moor, I think he is a wanker he has done the job he was brought in for.

Remember, Spurs only had 2 points on the board when he took over, and now here they are, a breath away from European football.

Early I felt Arry was the man to save us from relegation, but not the man to take us onto bigger and better things. I now think he's been nothing short of brilliant for us. You can see the improvement in players like BAE, Lennon, Bent, Modric, Gomes and Dawson since Arry arrived. His man management skills seem to be excellent.

Arry will be the first to remind everyone that we only had 2 points from 8 games, but so he should, as it's been nothing short of a miracle that we find ourselves fighting for European football. At the end of December, I would have taken 17th spot without question.

He's still got some catching up to do on Jol, but the vast majority at the Lane are warming to Arry.

I just did a quick calculation. Harry has spurs averaging 1.68 points per game. Hypothetically we could have finished 5th or 6th on 64 points if we'd had harry all year!

The last team to have as bad a start as Spurs this year and stay up was Southampton. They finished 17th on goal difference.
Spurs will likely finish 7th-8th.

Give us 38 games with this form next year and Arsenal will be enjoying the Europa League in 2010/2011 (barring some **** poisoning our lasagne on the final day and costing us 4th again  )

Can you give me a quick recap on the food poisoning incident? If it's not too painful! I remember hearing something about it at the time, but not the details?

On the last day of the 2005/2006 season, Spurs were sitting pretty in 4th, 1 point ahead of Arsenal in 5th. We had a trip to West Ham, where a win would have seen us secure Champions League football. The team stayed at the Marroitt hotel in east London prior to the match, where a number of players had lasagne for dinner on the night before the game. On game day, 9 NINE of our first team players fell ill with food poisoning and were unable to play. We subsequently went down 2-1 to Wet Spam and the Gooners defeated Bolton I think to clinch 4th. The incident is referred to as 'Lasagnegate' and is probably 2nd only to the Sol Campbell incident in Spurs fans most bitter memories.

There was a full police investigation into the incident which cleared the hotel of any foul play. Personally I don't buy into that crap at all. NINE players..........someone had a hand in it.

Thanks for that DA, I think you're right, someone had to be involved! I smell a cover-up!

OK what about the Sol Campbell incident? I assume you're talking about the Spurs supporters charged over the homophobic, racist taunts at Fratton Park? Or is it to do with him leaving Spurs for Arsenal?

And another thing, would it have been easier (in hindsight!) to take a coach on the day of the game at West Ham? I mean, they're both London clubs. How far are we talking? Obviously I've never been to London!

The Sol Campbell incident is that he was our captain, came up through our academy, apparently loved Spurs, told the world that he was going to sign a new contract at the end of the season saying he would concentrate on football in the meantime, was the best CB in the world by a MILE at the time, then sold us out in a flash and walked down the road for free that summer, meaning we didn't get a cent for a player that even at the time should have commanded 18-20m AND he went to our biggest, most hated rivals.

He's a prick of the highest order and that's what the stuff at Fratton Park was about - STILL!! Although it wasn;t racist taunts, it was homophobic. Basically fans sing a song about him being gay and having AIDS. Been doing it for years, and it will continue forever, he's hated that much.

On Lasagnegate, yes it would have been easier to take a coach, but all big teams have their pre-game schedules and for away games, the team gets together, has training, stays in a hotel then goes to the ground as a team. So eerything in between is done as a team I understand.

Thanks DA, you've been very helpful! I hate not knowing about what I'm reading! Just been reading a bit more about big Sol on Wikipedia. Apparently he has a son, so I'm assuming he's not actually gay! Not that there's anything wrong with that! ;) I can understand him having European ambitions, but he should have been more honest with the press/fans. Too late now though, isn't it! Suffer in your jocks! [-X

I'm a Liverpool fan mate! Gerrard has been my favourite player ever since I started watching the highlight show about 10 years or so ago. Torres is not far behind him now though! I was hoping your lads could've done in the 2nd half what they did in the first the other night. I woke up just as Rooney got Man U's 4th! Shattered me. :(
