I am not a diabetic, but I am a big fat bastard. Over the years I have tried different diets and stuff, and I did Atkins about 4 years ago. I read the book and got into the theory of it and everything.
It is highly recommended for diabetics, it claims to lower the body's resistance to insulin, because your body makes very little of the stuff with the Atkins diet as there are very few carbs. It also drastically lowers your trygliceride levels.
Like I said I am not a diabetic but as a habitual fat bastard I can attest to the diet achieving everything it claimed to in the way of evaporating fat off me. I lost 12 kilograms in about 3 or 4 months, the whole time eating high fat foods (almost no trans-fats though) and lots of meat and veggies.
I eventually gave it up because....... this may sound strange, but I gave it up because I lost the ability to be happy in the last month or so. Life suddenly became boring, even though my body was feeling great. I have since come across a couple of sources that claim that carbohydrates are linked to brain function and have a profound affect on emotion, I think I am in a minority that experienced this side affect, but it was the sole thing that made me give it up.
Have you tried it? It claims to work wonders for diabetics and I am curious about how true those claims are.

Cant get used to the taste of Coke Zero, what I find with Diet Coke is that its an acquired taste, have a few weeks away from it then pick it up again and it doesnt taste very pleasant!

Why does Coke never put Diet Sprite in any of their machines? Could it be that without the Caffeine in it that it is not addictive and does not sell as much as a result?

The Solo zero isn't a bad drop, I must say that diet cordials are far better nowadays than what they used to be, Apple & Raspberry is nice.

I believe so Psyber.

I prefer Diet Coke in cans.

Only because it has the word "DIET" in the name.

Probably perfect advertising. ;)

Coke and Pepsi are supposed to be racing each other to get their versions of Diet Coke and Diet Pepsi Sweetened with Stevia as opposed to Nutra Sweet out onto the market!

Yes, claims to. It's all bullsh it.

You were probably feeling mentally like shit because your brain needs carbohydrates to function.
It's all the SANFL's fault.

They spent a fair bit of coin spruiking the Original Mother, obviously with little market research...

I still haven't met someone that says they like the taste.
