Wouldnt suprise me ... add to that there are already 10 sides in A1's and its going to cause some grief.

I hope sandy creek do come in as they are talking about having a turf deck which will then add to the profile of the comp, you would think a club with so many teams would only benefit our league and give us a better profile

getting fired up doesnt seem to work for sandy creek if the last couple of years is anything to go by.. Quite the opposite i would of thought looking at your results.. Maybe a couple of years in adelaide plains league would do your confidence a world of good before jumping into a kitchen that is to hot for you guys to handle.. Then again having a turf deck will allow you to get some points from bad weather..

have heard the b&l will decide on the sandy creek entry on the 11th of may.
have heard many interesting ideas over the last month or two on how possibly a 12 team comp would work
with the best i think being to play a 12 team comp this year that includes 11 2 day games and at the end of the year the bottom 4 teams to be relegated to get us back to an 8 team comp of 7 two dayers and 7 one dayers and from then on compulsory PROMOTION and relegation of 2 teams each year
IMO this would give every club an even chance to stay in a1 and also know what is going to happen b4 the season starts if they finish outside the 8.
the other possibility is to play with a 12 team comp and just have 2 day fixtures

That is the optimum outcome in terms of scheduling, and should flow on to even out all the grades below it - as most grades seem to have two distinct standards of side.
The issue becomes dealing with how far the relegation/promotion goes down the grades, how to deal with two sides from the same club playing in a grade, and how to write the enforced promotion/relegation into the bylaws to make it stick.

Also need to enforce some standards in terms of ground conditions to improve the higher end of the comp, with at least 1 ground not really being fit for A1 cricket with its pitch and runups being substandard, the ground in question also seems to have elastic boundary markers.

what oval are u referring to there timmie, gawler central perhaps? since when did u have a bowling run up lol. i think south gawler with a 6ft pitch is more of an issue
perhaps just a 6 team a2 comp would solve all the problems of having two teams in a particular division and would be fairer on the clubs 2nd teams that are currently in a2 having to compete against 1st eleven sides. therefore no teams would be relegated from a2 unless exceptional cicumstances arise, but i believe it is also in the constitution that ur highest team must play div 2 or higher. 2 teams in one division isnt a problem down the grades and perhaps it could also see the return of a5 as the one day comp and a4 to become a 2 day comp again. there would be enuff teams to allow this to happen as there was 38 this year and add sandy creeks 4 gives us 42 to split amongst 5 grades, so 2009/10 would be a1-12, a2-10, a3-8, a4-12 with everything getting tidied up the year after
so 2010/11 would be a1-8,a2-6, a3-8, a4-8, a5 remaining teams 12
