Cougar first of all I would like to say congrats to all those at Kersbrook responsible for getting that oval back. I was there on Sat and the oval looked a real treat and hopefully this time it can remain that way. It is a great place to watch th footy from up on the hill near the clubrooms and listen to the "advice" from the crowd.
Secondly I think that the game was a classic example of a team playing against individuals. You blokes kept in all day, whereas TV played alot for themselves. No doubt if they gel they are streets ahead of most, but at the moment Kersbrook are a better team.
As for the tavern, I thought the quality lacked a bit, but the footy was on the big screen, the beer was cold and the entry was free so I shouldnt complain.
Also just heard from Mannum that they have signed Waterhouse, Wanganeen and Lyle, with the latter two to play when their work and other committments allow.

Kyle had a quiet first game but did well against Kersbrook and he seems to be getting a better understanding of how Simon wan'ts to use him.
Mick has been playing very well as you'd expect and for someone who seems to have a reputation for chasing the dollar, he's put in an awful lot of work off the field as well - especially before Christmas.
Woodards has been going well on the field (and off of the field). For someone who by his own admission 'was only a b grader' at Angaston, he's fit in well and has a good strong body and will only get better as the year goes on IMHO.

Not good for the comp, or Cally, when the second bottom team from last year beats the bottom team from last year by so much. Gums have really improved on and off the ground in recent years with a small but loyal band of people at the club getting the results they deserve. Not getting carried away just enjoying the start of the year for a change.
