Just wanna give a big thanks th the boys from Henley after today, they gave us three cartons to do with as we wish so we raffled them off and brought in $486.00!!!

just terrific effort from them and we really appreciate it!!!

we also ran a canteen this morning down at our club for the Blackfriars school teams and pulled in just under $300.00 so it was a good day all round for us.

at this rate we'll be out of the red in no time! again a big thanks to the Henley lads...

Good to see the three young lads running the barby & canteen this morning, looked like they just rolled out of bed the minute before. Now they know what having young kids playing footy all weekends about.
4 deep at the bbq when I left at the end of the 1st game & with Blacks having their next 4 Saturday morning games at Cane there's a quid to be made. Just a hint though, kids love snags in bread, does'nt matter what time of day, you'll sell another $50 worth, some of them think eggs are vegetables.
Hey soccer you owe us 45million.

Now that's what is known as "community spirit" in the football world. Congratulations and thank you Henley on your generosity.

Total of pledges paid $1400.00 plus the guys have raised around the $1500.00 mark through the canteen, bar, barby & raffles
We hope they'll be okay with some extra time to consolidate.

The Tally so far

Aceman $100.00
Jimmy $100.00
Quichey $50.00
Luke Hosie - Amateur Footy Budget $100.00 plus a FREE page of advertising at any time .
Graeme Jarrett - Express Colour Printing $200.00
Phantom Gossiper - $100.00
Silent Hour $50.00
Hilly & Salisbury West FC $105.00.
Wendy's Port Canal Shopping Centre $200.00

04 Premiership Coach $100.00 This is still to be paid!

Henley Football Club donated 3 cartons of beer which the boys raised $486 by raffling them.
I have just been advised that the Adelaide University Football Club are donating to the cause, a full "set of golf clubs" to sell probably on Ebay and Ovies get the money from the sale. How good is that! Many thanks to both clubs for their generous offers.

exactly right! the Saturday morning school footy has always been there by i never knew about it until recently, now that's going to be a permanent fixture as it is easy money, plus it means we aren't always on our boys to dig into their pockets more...

then once we get a few functions going at the club too we should be fattening our bank account so we'll get through this. only a little bit to go now and we're out of trouble...

Making sure it doesn't happen again is the next challenge, getting enough people interested enough to keep the momentum going is another but they're on the right track at the moment.

It sounds as though its being extremely well driven by a few blokes including your good self, if you start getting some tangiable results so people around the club can actually see or hold something to show that this fundraising is actually working then your half way toward keeping moentum going, and growing the support base for the cause...

I know in Plympton's case that just showing a bank statement, or a profit/loss statement still didnt quite win everybody over, surprisingly, but being able to get thier hands on something to show that it was working, to actually feel it, no matter how small or insignificant, that got a lot more backers on board.

Don't take it too seriously, just felt that sometimes they say that "rats desert a sinking ship" and I get the impression you feel like you have been betrayed by someone down there. As for a deadline, no there isn't one, but keeping us informed is all we ask. After all, some people make pledges just for fun!

g'day peeps,
just a quickie to draw your attention once again. there's another quick write up in the Footy Budget this week regarding our situation. as has been mentioned, we do appreciate and acknowledge every person and club that has helped our cause, and although the SAAFL debt is all but gone now there are some other things that are coming to the fore. if you are still interested in helping us out then please drop me a line or make a pledge.

thanks again to everyone involved in helping us and if you haven't, you still have a chance. i don't wanna beg and nag but we aren't completely out of the woods just yet.

we're doin our best atm, as we've shown, but need a little more help so anything, ABSOLUTELY ANYTHING, is appreciated and will help us immensely, even if it isn't substantial.

thanks again,

NG

OKAY, here we go, be quick with this;

In an earlier post I advised that the Adelaide University Football Club has donated a set of golf clubs & bag to the cause in the hope of adding some additional funds to the Ovingham SOFTY campaign.

In fairness to those who have assisted and all posters on this site, it has been decided to give all the first chance to win the prize via a “Silent Auction”. The highest bid over the Reserve will be the winner. This auction will run for 7 days until next Friday at 12 noon and if we do not get a winner by then, the clubs will be sold on EBay.

Bids may be sent to me via pm, you will be advised if you are below the Reserve and this will give you an opportunity to bid again. Highest bidder above the Reserve is the WINNER.

You are bidding for a set of Prestige brand golf clubs, 1,3 & 5 metal woods with head covers, a 3-hybrid club and 8 irons 4 – SW. All have regular graphite shafts, all weather rubber grips and are in a beautiful 10” bag.
The clubs sit beautifully at address and are impressive to look at; their head shape is very similar to the new model Callaway X20.

The brand name Prestige is from Sweden, they are the leading golf club manufacturer, a subsidiary of Callaway Golf, for further information go to their website; http://www.prestigegolf.com;

Any prospective bidder who wishes to inspect the package, pm me to arrange a time and place, meanwhile, get in quick with your bid as this is too good to miss

hmmm.... well considering the missus just came back from the US with a Coach bag worth US$398 i reckon i could spend a couple of dollars on some new clubs... my current ones (1 360cc Driver, 3 woods, 4,5,7,9, PW, SW and putter plus retro bag) set me back $80 total. might be time to upgrade, although my game probably won't get much better!!!
