I was really surprised to see Westminster lose this game....

Westminster will struggle to stay afloat in Div 5. To many soft bodies, sure they can run but just aint willing to go in hard enuff. Famous for chokin come August as well

Good game at Kenilworth by the Dragons yesterday. Plympton came back at them in the 3rd however I said in the 3rd WOS always had them covered, were way too far in front initially.
For me this week Pultney too good, would expect them to win by approx 5-6 goals.

to say that i was diapointed, like many other plympton 'past players' (me at the ripe old age of 27), this one really really hurt. I played the year in div 4 wehn we didnt win a game in A Grade and this hurts 100x as much.

WOS played the game well, and they were well coached. Homework was done on Plympton as in the first quarter they really tried to rough Plympton up, it seemed to have scared them, as it had done all year. The sides that showed physical pressure to the Dogs were the sides that beat or came close tot he dogs this year.

I hate to label them, but i will... SOFT.

soft, soft, soft...

The coach knew it too, he asked me 3 weeks ago to put a write up in the e-newsletter how soft Plympton were, in the hope that it would send a rocket up the players. So it was an issue that the coach knew about, and i think so did WOS.

I left at the 10m mark of the 3rd, heart broken.

Well done Westminster, you did your homework and you deservedly got up.

Plympton need to take a few tablespoons of cement.

i wouldn't go that far jabber. they were just outplayed by a better more confident side on the day.

having seen plympton the last two years they like to get on the front foot and intimidate the opposition and make alot of noise about it. i think there was a few blokes that looked like the season had gone two weeks to long. almost running up and down on the spot from the start of the game. fowrads were up at the centre searching for a kick half way through the first quarter whihc prob wasn't a good sign.

possum was right - they did seem to play better when jim smith was away from the goal square. he worked his arse off i thought in a role that he probably doesn't carry out too often. needed a link in the middle of the ground in the second quarter when coming out of defence.

anyone have a view - are Pulteney and/or WOS better than Golden Grove and/or Greenacres from last year?

Its a tough one Sprint re Bassett but I think if we were in that position we would nore than likely play him. Jabber I am not sure about soft, we were pretty tough at the ball all day and got around the numbers behind play.

Im not taking anything away from the fact that you guys were far superior on saturday.

but in my view, and its been a view that has been created over the past 3 months, is that plympton are a soft footy side, very aware of harder bodies around them. WOS intimidated Plympton in the first quarter and that was the end of it.

Plympton do not enjoy any physical pressure.

The coach raised it with me, so as i said before he was aware of the issues.

This is also a bit harsh but a view shared by a few other plympton supporters, and that is that i think some of the supporters were more disapointed and more hurting than SOME (not all, and not the majority) of the players.

both games against plympton we felt the same jabber..but we couldnt sustain the pressure..first game we were 5 points down at half time and the second game 2 goals down at 3/4 time..and the thrust of the entire day was to just tackle, tackle, harass and be agressive at the man and ball

cant split the GF yet..looks like its at st marys..wos may feel quite at home there and are match hardened

You guys did it and couldnt sustain it, same with Smithfield in rd 18, elizabeth a few weeks before hand...

They all knew, and so did Westminster.

It would have played out like a well written script for the WOS coaches!

Kenilworth must bea laughing all the way to the bank with all these matches at panther park.
