Congrats to Henley. As much as it pains me to say it, they thoroughly deserved to win on the day.
Raiders should hold their heads up high after having a real crack at in the third quarter, any suggestion that the umpires had a part in getting them back in the game is absolutely ridiculous. Yes, Houghton were receiving more free kicks for a 10 minute period but that is because Henley were losing the plot at that stage and GIVING FREE KICKS AWAY.
Congratulations must go to the Henley boys for their composure to steady after the final break and take back the momentum, and ultimately take the flag. I think after the huge effort the Raiders gave in the third, they just didn't have enough run left in the legs. And with poor Sammy Taylor absolutely rooted after a massive rucking effort all day, Henley were getting their hands on the ball first. I think this is really what decided the outcome in the end. Taking absolutely nothing away from Henley, but a second ruckman giving Sammy a hand just might have made the difference.
Look forward to when these sides meet again in div 6. Yesterday's loss is the kind of thing that makes you wanna give everything to help your mates....
