4 DOWN 5 TO GO FOR MacGOWAN

All discussions to do with the SANFL

A much better appointment than Atkinson but he will still have un uphill battle until Sturt can get some money to recruit but expect some good improvement in the DB's in 2007 and as MacGowan said tonight on 5AA - he thought they under performed and that is probably correct for the talent they had on their list for most of 2006. He interviewed well tonight.

Good appointment and after just a week or so after being headhunted from what he revealed tonight. Doesn't say much for the other candidates who have had a number of weeks headstart for the position.

For what it's worth I think it's a good move too.

So, is Atkinson gonna stay at the double blues and if so, in what capacity?

How will MacGowan embrace him when he knows Brodie wanted the job? How will Brodie embrace MacGowan and will he be bitter about not being given the gig?

Has Sturt filled the Football Operations position as yet?

I think he was looking at the db.org before the appointment was official (ie the coaching rumours thread), everyone seems happy after the event.

I'm in, thank ya. I don't know your e-mail address and I wasn't aware you were a member here until I seen your above post, thought I may as well mention it here seeing as this thread had kinda turned into mentioning your Sturt forum. :)
