Notts County face new threat from taxman as club is hit with second winding-up petition
Notts County have been served with their second winding-up petition in three months.
The petition, issued by the HM Revenue and Customs against County's parent company Blenheim 1862 Limited, will be heard at the Royal Courts of Justice on January 27.
Notts County chairman Peter Trembling, who bought the club for £1 from Munto Finance in December, admitted he was aware the petition was coming.

Leeds striker Jermaine Beckford has handed in a transfer request, the League One club have confirmed.
The 26-year-old, whose contract expires in the summer, has been strongly linked with a move away from Elland Road, with Championship leaders Newcastle leading the chase for his signature.
And Leeds have now revealed Beckford informed them of his desire to leave last month, although they insist their star forward will not be allowed to leave on the cheap.
A statement on the club's website read: "Leeds United can confirm that Jermaine Beckford has handed in a transfer request. The transfer request was handed in on December 30. By handing in a transfer request it clearly indicates that the player wants to leave Leeds United."
Sharp lot up at Leeds. I'd never have worked that out

Lets just hope he leaves before the 4th round of the FA Cup

There's no guarantee that he is leaving in this transfer period. We'd have to get around 4 Million for him to at least consider letting him go.
If he isn't there for the Tottenham game, we'll just promote Snodgrass to the starting line-up. He dominated Liverpool, hit the bar against Man United, so Spurs should be a walk in the park for him

No against Wilson Palacios and The Hudd.

£4m is way over the top pidge. £2m is a fairer valuation IMO.

Although they're two pretty solid defensive midfielders, his pace makes him very dangerous.johntheclaret wrote:If he doesn't go in January then Leeds won't get a bean for him in the summer as he's out of contract.

I agree, 2 Million is fair. Part of the transfer fee would go to his former club ( i think 10%). I'd rather keep him, make sure of promotion and let him go for free in the summer as we'd get a reasonable amount of money for going up. If he stays for the rest of the season, you never know, he may even decide to sign a new contract with us.
