Just a comment on North again. I didn't get the chance to watch any Cricket yesterday but I note that North has been caught again. I know Booney isn't going to like this but is our coach earning his dough with this current side?
Like our teams immediately after the retirements of Chappell, Marsh and Lillee we seem to be advanced in years but not in experience. I reckon the coach and the selectors have got a lot of thinking to do and that it might take a few years before we are a power again.
As for Usman....perhaps he needs a bit of work on the short ball as well. Haven't seen a lot of him bat but the domestic bowlers are bouncing him right away - at least in the teeball and Franger matches.

Never thought Clarke deserved to be in the side in the first place. Only makes runs when there is no pressure on him. God help us if he is our next captain.
I thought we were past this sort of nonsense. Some people obviously cannot move on, restricted by personal biases.

Back up your statement rod. Meaningless 100's. Consistently fails under pressure. Good players stand up when the heat is on. Getting a 100 in boring draws or when the game is well and truly lost don't count. Watch him get 100 in the next test, when it doesn't matter.........again.

So anyway.
1st Test vs India 2004 (Debut)- 4/149- Comes in and makes 151 in first innings on debut. (Win)
1st Test Vs NZ 2004 (Debut in Aus) Comes in at 4/128 in the first innings and makes 141. (Win)
2nd Test Vs England 2006- Makes a first innings 124 to help chase Englands lead of 550+ (Win)
1st Test Vs Sri Lanka- Makes a first innings 145* to set up 550 1st innings score (Win)
2nd Test Vs NZ 2008- Comes in at 3/150 and makes 110 to set up first innings lead (Win)
3rd Test Vs South Africa (Syd)- Comes in at 3/109 and makes 138 to set up victory. No other player for either side scores a century during the game. (Win)
2nd Test in the Ashes 2009- Makes 136 in loss, Only Australian to make a century. (Loss)
4th test Ashes 2009- 2nd top score with 93 to put Australia in control and level the series. (Win)
So out of 12 test centuries at least 6 he made in wins and all first innings where he has helped set up games.
Averages 55 against England, 52 against Sth Africa and 46 against and in India who are probably our three biggest challenges over the last 4 years.
The downhill skier analogy is a load of rubbish IMO. Sometimes he finds unorthodox ways to get out and yes he will always have his doubters but if you have watched Australian cricket for the last 2 years you would realise he is probably our most consistent and important batsmen.

At this stage of his career, he's not suited to the shorter form of the game. He's a run machine in the SS, which is what counts the most. He is a very good puller of the ball, in the SS he's shown the ability to consistently put away and control the stroke.

Not Michael Clarke.

Perhaps it is the hook or the back foot defence rather than the pull shot that opposition sides are targetting. I saw him play a very nice pull shot the other night so you are OTM there.
