Top 3 may almost be set: Perth, Gold Coast, Townsville
The final spot between Adelaide and Melbourne. New Zealand can still make it, but their road record is too appalling to contemplate.
It will be a real shame if Wollongong miss the finals after being so gallant throughout, but their hopes have nosedived with McKee's back injury.
While they will be real nuisance value for the rest of the year, particularly at home, Cairns are just too far out of it now on class.
Has been a fantastic season so far though - really, really proved the evenness of NBL with the 8 teams.

In other NBL news the Breakers have released John Rillie and signed Kevin Braswell as their second import and forgot to mention local Luke Martin has been signed by the Hawks to fill in for injured import Tywain McKee for the rest of the season.
