Re: Who wins the flag?
Yeah they have been the best team all year but i'm expecting Port to have a strong side come finals time.
Norwood might wake up like last year also.
Eagles in the box seat though.

Port and quite easily.
Eagles are hopeless on Adelaide Oval. They really struggle there.
Port know it well and how to play it with professional full time players who are taught how to play it (week after week).

Did you forget about last year.
Port were near full strength and couldnt get the job done. Heart and spirit can sometimes be enough.
Eagles are made of stern stuff, they will give it a huge shake

Re: Who wins the flag?
Would love to say South but injuries are really mounting and unless we finish top 3 I cant see us winning 4 straight finals. Talent wise we're well short of last season but playing a very disciplined and well structured brand of footy.
Not entirely convinced on the Eagles but they deserve favouritism, and wouldn't write Nwd off. Westies would want to play a lot better than they did last week, have seen very little of them though this season.
If South can't win it, is it wrong to kinda want Port too? Yes the smugness/ignorance of many (not all) Power supporters would be unbearable, but perhaps a sham premier might spur some clubs and the league into pulling their head out their backside. Or maybe it wont, and it's just wishful thinking and it'll end up being the knockout blow...

Agree with you there. IMO Port cost South a GF last year.. Knocked us out the the preliminary final with a stacked side.
One quarter (the 3rd) cost us as our guys just ran out of fitness against full time professional paid footballers.
If we got to the GF I think we could of given Norwood a run for their money and had our first premiership in 50 years.
Would like other clubs to find out how it feels to be beaten by a AFL club. Eats you inside !!! ( a feeling I wont forget easily)

I've had enough.
If Port Power reserves win, then that's definitely the end of the SANFL for me (and my grandkids).
If Port Power reserves only make the Grand Final, then only probably the end of the SANFL for me.
At the very minimum, as a first step, Port Power reserves have to be on the same conditions as the Crows reserves
- ie no Academy side, contribute $400,000 per season for being allowed to participate in the SANFL, no home games.
- 2nd step: kick both sides out of the SANFL or at least not allow them to play in finals or if in finals maximum 10 qualified players only.

In more ways than one. South was Pure Minor Premier (tm). They'd have had the double chance and a week's rest if not for AFL garbage in the comp. Making - and winning - the GF from fourth is a bigger task than making it from first.

Eagles will choke
West v Port GF
Power reserves, if their side is loaded, to win easily.

I think West showed, against South last week, that they aren't quite ready to play in a GF this year...
West to go out in straight sets, South to scrape into the five and either an Eagles v Port or Eagles v Norwood GF, for mine...
I hope it to be a Norwood v Eagles GF, as I predicted that at the start of the year (and for other obvious reasons) with the Eagles to win...

I wouldn't take much out of West a last game, finals aren't played at Noarlunga.
Order by preference: South, West, Eagles, Norwood, Port

Re: Who wins the flag?
Heart says Eagles as always.
Head actually agrees with Heart which is concerning. Eagles defensively are far superior to last season and they have the firepower up forward to compliment that. Will need to stay almost 100% healthy through out but if they do that I think they win it..

Re: Who wins the flag?
I have a feeling Port will not make the grand final.
Eagles will definitely be there. Probably be premiers.
Want South to win it.

I'm gonna sit back, crack the top off a Pale Ale, and watch the Double Blues prevail

I think Port will also struggle in the finals. With 2 of there key defenders out for the season now this means Clurey wont be back, Jonas will go back to the AFL side and Lobbe wont be there finals time as well.
And they'll have Butcher.......
What Im saying is I think they be very beatable. Neade and Ah chee will be probably play out the year and be ineligible for finals. So how they go this weekend will likely be as good as they'll get.
Read my reply. It is directed at you because you have double standards

Re: Who wins the flag?
Jim 05, last year the Power made the AFL finals, this year they did not so they can plan the SA finals campaign
much better than 2014 (without the AFL to worry about).
