You also fail to mention why there was a fight that broke out in the first place that resulted in the incident in question. I'll let you tell the rest of the forum blue bagger, why was that

Btw what sort of pull could I possibly have. Your statement makes no sense big knight.

Just as I thought, sounds like you didn't see the 'king hit' off the play.

Mate I saw everything. I was injured and sitting about 20 metres from it all. The first off the play at our player the 2nd in the fight to your player. Noone is better than anyone here except your supporters I can not say the same for that.
Let it go now you obviously think your player did nothing wrong to start with and just going round in circles.

what happens on the field is one thing.. and thats what we have to expect from port noarlunga when we play them, but for their supporters to spit on players when they are about to be interchanged is an absolute disgrace.. not to mention them throwing glass bottles, and cans after the game..

Things seem to be a bit tense at cobra land at the moment. Can anyone down there shed any light on why the B grade coach has quit? I hear ando is making life difficult for more than just 1 or 2 people at the moment. Having said that, saw a few kids playing A's on the weekend, so maybe he has conceded the 2010 flag is out of reach and is getting some game time into the kids. The scoreline probably flattered them a little in the end. Never really in the contest and the sting went out of the game early in the second half.

To change the subject from fighting...

After Hackham's B grade got a hard fought win against Marion B grade on the weekend it got me to thinking about clubs depth, and how important the B grade is to the A grade teams success in September.

Keep in mind that most of say Brighton's B grade could play A grade (they are going for 3 premierships in a row) and internal competition for spots is vital to success.
For instance a lower ranked team A grader would be a B or C grader at a strong club, and vice versa.

This is the current ladder and number of players who have played A grade this year.

POS Club Players Used

1 Brighton 35
2 Reynella 39
3 Morphett Vale 34
4 Cove 37
5 Happy Valley 41
6 Noarlunga 41
7 Pt. Noarlunga 39
8 Edwardstown 42
9 Flagstaff Hill 34
10 Christies Beach 36
11 Morphy Parks 35
12 OSB/Lonsdale 33
13 Marion 47
14 Aldinga 52
15 Hackham 46

As you can see it has a factor on position on ladder.

It shows why
1. Morhett Vale should be favourites this year
2. Why Flaggys are big improvers
3. The trouble the bottom 3 have getting a settled structured team on the park (no excuses by the way just a bored observation)

Thoughts???

That MVale stat surprises me WLF. Without knowing that stat, i would have said that this has been MVale's most unsettled year in a long time. 2 injury forced retirements, 5 blokes going to Sth Africa for world cup, and a host of other injuries have made going tough at times. Agree with your thinking though. A stable team over the course of the year definately a good thing for any team.

I agree with your point re depth but not as players used in A grade as the factor. It more to do with quality and numbers. LONG term success comes from within and the pressure for spots from the 14 to the A grade. IE- Brighton,M/Vale,Cove,Valley and also the Shoe where this is bearing fruit.

You cant expect LONG term success if your next 21 is bottom or there abouts and no juniors to feed from.

I used Sporting Pulse as my info so I hope it's correct.

Certainly surprised me with the mail out of MV this year.

the contact in soccer at this age is alot harder than footy
so why cant kids play footy at year 1
is the league soft
and we need 2 divisions at seniors

Re the Porties v Flaggies melee. All started by the same Porties "gentleman" that copped a spray from Madrooster back on May 8th this year - refer page 795. Appears the "gentleman" is a serial offender!!!

Re the depth of playing stocks etc., of Flaggies 34 used only 2 / 3 (?) did not come through our juniors. Takes a while for that to happen but has to be good for the club and the group in general.

If that is the case, why did some other bloke (not the guy that "started it") end up in hospital? Was the Flaggies bloke not tough enough to go after the bloke that started it and instead targeted a small bloke?

BTW, I posted about this on Saturday night and it has been deleted! Any reason mods?

I would have thought that the better your B grade side is doing would benefit the top A grade sides. For example Brighton are sitting top in both the A and B grade and have only lost 2 games between the two teams, that's a pretty awesome effort by the club.My thoughts are Brighton are sitting in the best position. From memory M/V B grade have always been up there over the past 6 years.
The only time i've ever been wrong...was when I thought I was wrong!!!

Interesting comment Numbers. It was in fact the smallest guy in the Flaggies team that got hit initially. Flaggies team mate remonstrated with the perpetrator and was then confronted by another Porties player who ended up on the deck.

Hey Numbers, I don't condone any incident that causes a player to be hospitalised. But maybe the all too frequent actions of some of your crew is the cause for innocent blokes getting belted. Maybe it should be those guys and some of your supporters saying sorry to the bloke who got hit.
