Osama, what were your thoughts on the donnybrooks 30 goal turn around since their last encounter with the panthers?

Will hadds be wielding the axe this week after their insipid performance?

Have it on good knowledge from even a few of the Tanunda lads that they were having a quiet chuckle about a goal awarded to them late in the 3rd quarter, which in their words was... "Way off"

No real surprises as to which teams goal umpire it was either???

Better watch your mouth there SD, the goal umpire in question is one of the best in the league and umpires through the final series, I can tell you he takes it very seriously. Yeah he made a mistake but who doesn't and it would not have effected the outcome of the game.

Just on the game, it was a great game to watch and expect to see Kapunda upset a few sides this year and finish reasonably high up on the ladder.

Agree he is a great umpre and a great bloke! Sure people make mistakes, maybe we should invest in hawk-eye and challenges, Dimes?

Osama was not happy Pinchy. Players done all they could.
The only axe to weilded will be at the BLG executives.
Was going to knock Nobby and Mick off their bar stool at half time.
How can the 2010 wooden spooners turn the scoreboard around by 30 goals against the best side from 2010.
Hadds always knew that the new points system was going to hamstring the might of the panthers.

Not sure why i would have to watch my mouth Swoop... Just speaking the truth, and he made a mistake! Footballers faults and indiscretions are always put out there for everyone to hear and read about, as well as fines and tribunal appearances. Why protect a Goal Umpire that made a clear and obvious mistake.

It was also simply to prove a point about Goal Umpires, and that this season in the BLG, from what i have been reading on this forum, in the papers, and viewing with my own eyes, that there are many decisions that are leaving many people bewildered already in the first 4 weeks of the season.

.

 thats a bit ruff on nobby and mike.

who would've guessed that tanking would become a grassroots football strategy where your better off winning 1 game than 5.

where is the incentive for clubs to invest extra on recruits to finish 5th when they can finish 8th, save money and get bonus points?

i look forward to late june when clubs send their pre season recruits to the b grade because at 1 and 6 their season is over and they dont want to spend another cent on potential.

Good on you Skip for highlighting the one flaw in what was a great game between the Bombers and Tanunda.
Whether it was a mistake or not by the goal umpire - and he made a couple of home town decisions last year at the same venue against Kapunda - it came at a stage in the game when Kapunda were getting away from Tanunda. The ball - Kaesler's attempt - missed by a substantial piece of real estate. The goal umpire must have known it; he had clear sight. Even the usually vociferous Tanunda plonkers behind the goals were too embarassed to support him from some some healthy and well rewarded barracking.
It's not the mistake he made it's the way in which he did it.This put Tanunda up and their unbelieving eyes must have thought it was their day. If he was unsighted he can ask the umpire, not guess and advantage HIS team. It makes a mockery of the hard work footballers put in in games like this, on BOTH sides.

Yes Skip and Hotspur, It was a very ordinary decision, and not the first one this umpire has made. (becoming very frequent).

But he was hardly as out of his depth as the central umpire in the game. Needs a bit of work.

How is Valentine going? Big loss for us when he went to the Bombers. Quality footballer.

Another week of upsets? At least we don't have to worry about "Willastongate" this week. Nobby can have a rest on the barstool.

Ango vs. South - the panthers will bring the Milliganites back to earth this week; mudpies at 20 paces.
Freeling vs. Barossa - 'Legs not travelling well; what is up at their creche? Still, I think they'll bounce back with the talent they have; young 'uns won't be tired after the travelling this week.
Centrals vs. Tanunda - The Maggies are ripe for the pickin' at the moment and Centrals might be the ones - Centrals by a little bit; goal umpire permitting.( Oh, come on it was a mistake!)
Kapunda vs. Nuri - So Nuri have a new gun do they? Kapunda won't let this one slip and Valentine is a real gun! Kapunda to keep improving with a win.

A question - do all the recruits at Donnyland get paid this week; not just the ones playing as per normal?

The reason I told you to watch your mouth was due to the ??? marks you placed behind your rant, what where they supposed indicate? If you had not placed these in your rant I would not have replied. The umpire in question is very good at his job and has been doing it for this league for a long time and despite what The Bomber says his mistakes are few and far between. That is why I told you to watch your mouth, he is a great bloke who is very fair and would NEVER cheat. You tell to open my eyes but I'm pretty sure if you go back through the blog you will notice that I agree he made a MISTAKE.

Despite what some may say it would not have influenced the outcome, Tanunda where just starting to work the Bombers over, and if we say this then we have to look at all bad decisions through a game that cost goals, remember the umpiring all day was fair and reasonable.

So this week Skip Dimes, Bomber etc.. we will see you all out there volunteering your time to do some goal umpiring for your clubs, maybe some boundry or centre umpiring and I'm sure you will not make any mistakes.

Ango vs. South - South to win 2 in a row. Ango in real trouble.
Freeling vs. Barossa - Commane to kick just another bag. Dog's easy!
Centrals vs. Tanunda - Tanunda to win by 10 goals.
Kapunda vs. Nuri - Bombers to win easy. Taylor BOG.

Swooper, time to leave the "Tanunda always do everything by the rules" hat at home. I saw the game, it was a bad decision. I spoke to players from both teams after the game. Both sides agreed it was a bad call. I then had a player and a supporter from Tanunda admit it is not the first time that the Tanunda goal umpire has given a decision for the better of the club.... Not good when your own players and supporters acknowledge this (not that Tanunda needed the help in recent years).... But.... In your defense, everyone admitted that no-one is as bad as the guy from Nuri... Apparently Allan Norton can attribute at least 30 career goals to his goal umpiring alone.
It's not about mistakes, it's just being honest and fair.
