Good effort by our A grade today but WC are just to good. They are a very well drilled team with winners right across the ground and should IMO play in the GF and go up again this year. We were lucky to escape with a win and the 2 points in the Bs in the end, WC took it right up to us. Apprently the C grade were quite ordinary today aswell and were lucky to get over Kenilworth.
which grade do you play Dark Knight?
I played B grade yesterday mate. So far this season Ive played five in the As and three in the Bs. We were quite ordinary yesterday and played no where near as good as we have been. We just need to put yesterdays performance behind us and now focus on Lutheran next week it what will be the B grades biggest test of the year.
As for the A grade, say what you want about the area of West Croydon but the A grade football team that resides there are very very good. They are well drilled and all play their roles equally well. Our boys played well yesterday I thought and managed to stay in the contest all game which was good to see but WC were just to good.
Coming up from Div 6 last year I honestly never expected WC to do so well but they are and it's an absolute credit to them. They may have lost a few in Pederson and Vessali and have a few injuries in Byrant and Stubberfield but the core group of players they have including Blokes such as Woodcock, A Birch, Davies, Loffler plus a handy pick up in Anderson looks to be very strong.
Cox was very quiet for most of the day, he looked to be finding his feet and getting used his new team and team mates. I very keen to see how he goes getting used to the pace and style of Div 5 footy after Div 4 was a too lower grade for a player of his calibe.
As for us we now move onto Adelaide Lutheran next week at home where I hope our boys will bounce back and get win number five while the B grade will face their biggest test of the season so far in the top of the table clash.
