Re: SAAFL Div C5 (2011)
Well it certainly looks like a criticism to me.
The A Grade would love to have the C Grade guys there supporting us and I personally am a big fan of the triple headers but our C Grade are made of a group of guys that all work together and work saturday mornings so the core of the team wouldn't be able to play footy at all.
Our club has had a couple of lean years and aren't going to turn players away so we can have a few more supporters at the A Grade. It has been a long time since our C Grade play finals and they want to win as would I.
Am looking forward to watching the boys on Sunday.

I have a problem. It's to do with the little man, the squashed-in French man, the naked little squashed up hairy boy! You know! With the hand feet

Just a question Boosh are these blokes available for B grade selection if needed? Personally I never like the sound of it when a club has a team made up of mates. It always gives me the perception they are only there for themselves not the club. This may not be the case with these blokes, its just my opinion hence the question about are they available for B grade selection.

I mean from my perspective winning C5 games is a great personal goal, but more importantly it has been about making sure that I can support the A Grade each (well, most...) weeks. And if i wasn't able to do that i'd have to seriously consider which of the two options appeals to me more.
North Haven (and this isn't a criticism just an observation) are percieved to have thumbed their noses at the rest of the Club and said bugger you blokes, we want the flag and we'll do whatever we have to in order to win it, and if that means there willbe 25+ less supporters at the A Grade each week then so be it.
I guess if thats your goal and the Club is happy with that then good on them, but I'd be dissapointed if PFC decided to run their race that way.
great post...

Big Show, if they were asked to play B grade I know for a fact that they would do everything in their power to play where selected. North Haven have been fortunate this year to have such a large number of juniors graduate to senior footy. A handful have been regulars in the A's, whilst majority have been in the B Grade which is a conscience effort from the club to get them playing as high as possible. This has allowed a majority of the older blokes who have been around the club some years to form a core group in the C grade. Yes it would be great to have triple headers, but as mentioned a lot of these blokes have work commitments that don't allow them to play at 10:15 time slot, there most probably is a little selfishness to stay in a winning team, but I am certainly not going to chastise blokes who have hung around through the tough times. They are a fantastic bunch and by no means have the club isolated them or they have not isolated themselves from the club. When the A and B Grade play away we always return to the club where atleast 75% of players and supporters are at the club having a drink and feed waiting for presentations. I wish them all the best for Sunday and will be there supporting them along with majority of A and B Grade players.
They are straight to their word, they don't talk a lot of smoke and mirrors behind windows.

Our C grade have been quite outstanding this season and completely deserve a home final. I believe they should be completely focused on their playing well and beating Hope Valley. Success hasn't come to NH too often and with the C grade being close to some possible success, they should do everything in their power to make it happen. I would love to see our C grade win the flag because it'll be great for our club.
Is 25+ more supportors watching going to make the A grade win? No of course not because only 21 blokes selected in the A grade are responsible for winning the game, not the people watching.

Thats good to hear Chump. The club has really turned it around since last season which is good to see. Your B grade was very youthful this year and I am sure that will only help with there development.

Just an observation, if watching/supporting the A's is more important to you than winning a game of football in whatever grade it may be than you perhaps shouldn't play/coach or at least strive for B grade. Another observation which is nothing short of baffling, is how people seem to find it hard to accept North Havens rightful decision to play at the usual SAAFL allotted times both now and during the season. As a former player of all grades out there I stuck up for their decision at the start of the season when debate raged and I will stick up for it now, what is best for some is not neccessarily best for others.
It's all about supporting the A grade but let's be honest, How many A graders or B graders for that matter would turn up a 10.15 to watch the C's

Well maybe thats part of the issue that you guys have, because at Plympton we have a fair few A Grader's pass though and have a look.
And if you think that a being in a winning C Grade side is more important than the A Grade then that is extremely self centerd and certainly a view that I would hope our C Graders don't subscribe to, and know that many don't.

Re: SAAFL Div C5 (2011)
In fairness. The Cs set their precedence before Rd 1, in that they weren't doin triple headers. Why should that change come finals?
Good luck to them, I hope to see a couple mates win a cup after I had nearly poached 3 of them to Elizabeth lol
