Adelaide Footy League Talk

Yeva, are you from Rosewater? If so, perhaps you set the record straight about whats happening with them?

Or can any one else actually confirm whether the club is staying or going?

I can't confirm or not whether they are staying in the comp... but 3 weeks out from the beginning of the season, with 22 out of a minimum 44 players showing up for a trial game it seems to me the club is in a lot of trouble.

Charlie Rumbelow has quit the club, half the committee has quit, money has been stolen

All signs point the club is in major trouble, they may play this year, but they'll struggle to win a game.

Narrowed it down to Para Hills, Pooraka or Salisbury Yeva - you couldnt be from Mitcham, no one from there would be silly enough to get on here after getting beaten by CLG !!!

Yeah, have to admit Salisbury Oval has always had a great surface. Having the cricket club there during the summer to look after it helps - i know we always get our oval back at the end of summer in superb condition. Who have Salisbury got this week Yeva ?

Felch, Port Reserve or Portland Oval is a batting paradise. Possibly the second best deck in the state besides Adelaide Oval.

Football shouldnt be allowed to be played on there.

It was a footy oval long before it was cricket field WAT - but we can put up with the cricketers because they look after the ground so well.
Second best pitch in the state you reckon - that would explain why opposition teams always make BIG scores against Port Adelaide, i thought it was because Port were not that good.

Port Adelaide struggle because they rely so heavily on Weeksy to make runs and take wickets.
They are more competative then they have been in past seasons.
Weeksy is a good footballer, maybe Portland could do with a mobile CHF.

Hmmm....i think he may have been approached a month or two ago, dont think he was that keen to play, well not with us anyhow. I think most clubs could do with a CHF full stop, being mobile would just be a bonus.

Port reserve a batting paradice  pfffffffffffffffffffffffft. Glandore Oval has a better batting track by a country mile

If Weeksy is going to play footy then I guess he given up on his first class cricket career

limblom park

Postby malleebull » Wed Mar 28, 2007 9:35 pm

limblom park(pooraka) would have to be one of the best ovals in div 4. it has the best of both worlds, not too big, not too small. the surface is always firm and the wings are wide enough to have a gallop when required. it has bend goal posts too. but once you know the bends you can snag a goal from anywhere.
