the hamley thing isnt the first time to happen, after round 1 2005 the players and commitee sacked ian stafford and earl took over,as they say rest is history, balaklava to win by a mile, virginia didnt look that good saturday and after a game like that will be hard to get up,the reserves again balaklava by a yard for the same reasons, senior colts will go to two wells, balaklava to me seem to be carrying injuries saturday still too good for us but two wells will be rested and ready to go,juniors should go mallalas way but the boys know no game is won before hand and they still have work to do,balaklava juniors are not in the finals every year for no reason, they know what there is to be done to win them, mallala in a close one

:? :? Stafford walked out on Mallala, he was most definately not sacked. Thus the players, nor the committee had absolutely nothing to do with this, it was entirely his own decision, and one that nobody saw coming.

i stand corrected,it was a mutual agreement between parties after a incident in the first game which also involved myself having to explain some actions to the commitee and the fact he didnt want me invovled with the team from there on so i quit on the monday and then told wednesday he was gone, all history now,he even spoke to me during the year unexpected.

[quote="Swamp Donkey"]Was just sifting through the votes for medal for this year and a well deserved winner again in Whitty, he just keeps stringing consistent games of footy together and is always in Mallala's top few each week. Dual Mail Medalist, three-time club B&F, 1 x Club Runner up B&F, Premiership Captain, 3 time Premiership player, BOG in a winning GF and an A1 Amatuer flag for ROCS. Fair resume and he's still he's only 27 or 28. Has been a handy aquisition for Mallala..... will be up there again in the clubs B&F one would assume. Would be nice to see Joel Mont win a medal one day, I think he's been runner up twice now, it doesn't seem right that he doesn't have one to his name yet, I'm sure he'll win one or two in the next few years if he can stay fit.

and assoc u14 coach, assoc u15 coach asst coach eagles u15 country squad, senior colt coach mallala

Could it be a few fringe A grade players leading the revolt were worried about job security and maybe having to get up a couple hours earlier on a saturday if the club continued to improve?

IMO it doesnt matter how you look at it a committee succumbing to the whims of players is not good for a club. Could go through alot of coaches if every player needed to like the coach.
These players should have just accepted the committees descision to reappoint him if they had the club at heart, IMO it says alot about the character of these guys, they are hardly going to be the type of players that will have success given when the going gets tough they just drop their bottom lip and spit the dummy.

Lockwood and Caterall gone. Hardly fringe players. 80 per cent of the senior playing group aren't all fringe players either. Never heard of a petition like this before so they must have felt strongly about it.

Moody wouldn't hang around without these two at the club. Here's a long shot, Moody will play at Virginia in 2012 with ex-team mate Wilkey ;)

Glad to hear it norm, he's an important player, despite what the umpires think

I felt for blokes like Moody and Mills, how they earned just 5 and 4 votes respectively is bewildering.

How Mills only polled this many votes is a farse. Sure he was quiet mid year but had a great season all the same and deserved more votes. I am not questioning Witty's win because he is a great player and so is Joel, in fact Joel is the best player going around. It is clear to me the biggest problem in the APFL at the moment is the umpiring, otherwise the comp is thriving. They clearly have no idea and when a game heats up they just lose control. I just hope Hodgetts doesn't get the A grade gig this week because he has the potential to screw it up completely. (NOT THE SHARPEST TOOL IN THE SHED)! I feel sorry for Tallboy with the rabble he has to deal with week in week out. There needs to be a strong recruiting drive in town to try and draw some fresh faced competent umpiring to the comp .It's about time the APFL president and his side kicks got off there oversized rumps and did something about it.
