Dawson won it

Dawson won it
Well deserved, as well as the 4 or 5 that he kicked, his forward pressure would have easily accounted for that many team goals.

I thought Catford was BOG had plenty of the ball and kicked 4. Interesting to see that of the people who won the BOG trophies none of them were named best by their club. I wasnt their for 14's so not sure who won that but I was surprised by the 17's, B grade and A grade winners.

Dawson is a gun, it was a bit pointless putting an injured running player on him in the last, needed to stem the flow to Dawson and create some run off half back, didn't happen, Balak's had players dropping back in the hole to stop Nicklaus getting easy marks at close range.

Rumor has it Virginia took injured players into the game. James had a hamstring injury. Once Virginia went 4 goals up I though they would run away with it but they didnt really give a yelp after that.

Also well done to Two Wells and Mallala in the colts grades, they were simply too good for the Junior Peckers.
Virginia were well in contention in both senior grades leading both matches early before imploding in the 2's giving away free kick after free kick as well as 25 and 50 metre penalties for high hits, back chat and behind the play incidents. The A's was a tight match until after half time when the pressure, fresher legs and higher onball rotations of Balaklava pushed away for a comfortable win.
Well done to Niklaus for his 100 goals for the year, how much did that cost the Rams in $$$ per goal?

Even though Virginia catered better than I thought catering was still pretty average I felt. Should have been a beer and food tent around the other side of the oval. Ran out of Super Dry and Johnnie Walker about 1/2 time of the A's, pies, pasties, ribs etc all ran out before 1/2 time and even before that I got served a pasty that was literally refridgerator cold.
League might have missed out on a reasonable amount of gate money too, with all the fence hoppers that I saw. Surely its not that hard jsut to pay your ten bucks!
