Not sure the tiser would appreciate my subtleties....

Not sure I could work with Rucci without a physical altercation ensuing.

Wooo hoooo Doggies.
Was getting updates all day from Mrs DW. Very happy chappy I was.

Wonder how long Pyman is guaranteed his position - I know it's only early. But some of the things I heard today would suggest that there are rumblings already.

Scottdog - the reason the Tiser covered the North aspect on Monday, is because the match review of the game went in Sunday. a fresh angle's needed, otherwise it's just repetition.

Shocking South...words cant describe it really.

On national TV and put on a show like that!!

No emotion and poor skills.

Word of note : If a team mate kicks a goal or does something good please go up and say well done.

A lot of players had poor games. Only a few can hold their heads up.

I can feel the season slipping away already.....

David Mackay was impressive for South. Pretty sad that a debutant was one of their better players.

In Souths defence. They were playing one of the millenium super powers of the SANFL on their own ground.

We struggle at Norlunga....

No Adelaide game this year.....

Hard to judge.

Who would wan't South's Draw so far...?

Not us.......

They have played 2006 Grandfinalists on unfamiliar ground...!!!
Smile :)

It's only Money $$$ :)

What is happening to our SANFL guys...

Wouldnt have liked to play half forward for us yesterday. Shocking skill level all day.

Absolutely no spark, no accountablility. Sadly, it reminded me of the second half of 2005.

The umps had no influence on the final score, but they were shocking. talk about whistle happy.

Clarke named 2nd best? granted, picking best players would have been a big ask, but clarkey just doesnt get much value for his touches.

Have to beat the legs this week, then it's off to prospect and alberton :?

Don't know if anyone will find my story of Saturdays game of interest but for what it is worth here goes.
I got to the game about half way through the third quarter of the reserves and almost immediately I was approached by a disabled bloke who presented me with his budget and a biro and asked me to mark the players who would not be part of the League side.I explained that I had just that minute arrived and hadn't had a chance to line up who was in the 2's but listed in the League squad but that I thought Brad Currie to be a scratching. He appeared satisfied with this and went on his way and I thought no more of it until he approached me again in the last quarter.Again he gave me his Budget and I saw that he had ruled out Andrew Hayes who was playing reserves."I worked it out myself" he said.I congratulated him and he wandered off again, stopping and showing several other people what he had done, all of who listened to him and didn't seem to just fob him off as sometimes may happen. However, his next mission was to climb the stairs into the Centrals coaches box.Daniel Healy and his staff were in there as was Roy Laird.Upon entering the box he offered his Budget to the occupants and it was Laird himself who politely told the guy he could not stay in the box as the coaching staff had to do their jobs. The bloke offered him his budget again and appeared to explain who he thought was in or out.Laird steered him out and back down the stairs and then stood with the guy for a few moments, placing an arm round his shoulder inspected his Budget ,congratulated him, confirmed his scratchings, said he hoped he enjoyed the game and went off to attend to his duties.
I don't know if the bloke knew who he was talking to,but full credit to the people who gave him the time of day and especially to Roy Laird who made my day with the kindness and respect he showed the fella.I know it was a minor thing and probably witnessed by nearly nobody but it was a really heartwarming thing to see.

edit:Game Review--- It was good.

Hence his departure from AFL ranks.
I used to love watching him speed his way down the wing in the AFL, but then he'd just cough the ball up.

Roy has an amazing perception.
Every time I hear or see him interviewed, I think he is a really good person, as well as a legendary coach. Nothing gets out of proportion.

This story gives me even more respect for him.

Thanks Kahuna.

Great stuff, as soon as I read the story, I thought "That's Alex" as he's done it a few times to me.
Roy Laird is the consumate professional and I have always had the utmost respect for him.
Thanks for sharing Kahuna.
