Any clubs interested in the triple-header idea? Hasn't been given the thumbs-up by our C grade yet but I'm pretty sure our committee wants them to happen.

I think we can do them against any club except Rosewater & Pulteney, which is probably the same for all clubs.

So is there any official news from Rosewater yet about season 2007 or are they just going to see how things go and forfeit if they can't field a side?

We're playing them this week and haven't heard anything official from the league yet about a forfeit, yet...

yeah i deffinately think that is a great idea for all the clubs, it would be a good day, you would get a lot of supporters an the clubs would deffinately benefit from it especially in the days money takings.

We did the triple-header thing last year against Adel Lutheran at our ground late in the year - worked well. It was a pretty early start for the C grade guys though, which may not suit some.

And ROH, no sizzle here - just going about our business, going to take it one week at a time. I would think we can get over Pooraka though, in a close one.

some of you may have some interest
another 5 clearances during week from rosewater
inlcuding captain from last year going to port district
must be going badly if he has jumped off with 4 days before start of season
Some like to say Arrogant, I like to say confident.

Newman, Wayne Cocks is the Portland club captain, David Bird and Dale Laslett are the vice captains and Luke Granlese and Warren Bowden are the deputy vice captains.

B grade young Timmy Upton and the ever green Alex Cortes are co captains, with Brett Webber and Julian Kubisz vice captains.

Bradman was Adam Rumbelow captain last year? Who else has left the club this week?
That place must be all but dead.

Its an absolute disgrace that Warren Bowden is put on the same line of leadership as Luke Granleese. There is no comparison

Agreed! Shouldnt he be playing in the magoos anyway?
Thought Upton was playing A'Grade??? Did he get the B's job so he isn't disappointed about being overlooked?

I am sure Felch could answer the question on Upton.

Bowden is obviously doing the right things at Portland, and leading from the front???

You would think David Bird would take over the captaincy next year, with this being Wayne Cocks last season of footy.

Bowden has a heart like a split pea. Always has and always will. David Bird would be a great successor for the fine line of players that have captained that club.

I am sensing some negativity towards one of the gun forwards in Div 4 from you Newman.

Confirmed it was Adam Rumbelow who left Rosey to go to Port Dist. But not sure if he was captain last year.

Round 1

Post by Westsider »

Div 4 Results - Round 1

Pulteney OS 19.11 125 v 07.12 54 Unley
North Haven 22.09 141 v 14.07 91 Ingle Farm
Pooraka 19.06 120 v 16.12 108 Portland
Mitcham 12.10 82 v 18.13 121 Para Hills
Salisbury 31.24 210 v 02.06 18 Rosewater

North Haven dominant as expected. Rosewater very bad. Pooraka looking good.
Portland unlucky to get Pooraka in Round 1 but will be around the mark.
Salisbury wasteful infront of goal. Para Hills / Mitcham I have no idea about but obviously PH looked good.

Round 2 Fixtures

Unley v Pooraka
Ingle Farm v Mitcham
Portland v Pulteney OS
Para Hills v Salisbury
Rosewater v North Haven

Pooraka, Ingle Farm, Portland, Salisbury and North Haven my tips for this week.

I think Portland vs Pulteney might be a closer match. Hard to say as I dont know much about PH or Mitcham
