Not the Kellet that played for Barossa a few years back, did nothing there...

South beat Ardrossan by plenty today. Left before the end but South was about 10-12 goals up.

Would not read too much into the Willaston - Goody Saints game, Goody's were without 12 of their best 21 players.

Scoreboard wrong at Kapunda today. Riverton won by a couple of points, but with almost their strongest team. Kapunda missing Buckets, Brady, And. Turrell, Zanadrea, Mckinnon, Williams and a couple of recruits;most of midfield and key positions, but played younger guys; looked like they needed a run.
Not a great match. Bombers at Berri next game, and Riverton look OK for coming season. Run will do Bombers good.

bag and sledge thats absolute rubbish. I sat with the goodwood president yesterda along with many of the players parents and they were missing 4 first choice A grade players. Willaston looked good in patches yesterday but got opened up through the midfield with the lack of accountability. Goodwood for 3 qts controlled the match and looked to be cruising but to willastons credit they really turned it on in the last qtr.

Saw the first half at South today and they will be pushing top 4 spot then went and watched Willaston v Goodwood Saints.
Willaston no Pepe, Campbell, Brooks, Mills, Jones, new full back and pushed Div 1 team to a point.
Gordon and McDonald will be great players in the BL&G and with Chris mcLean back along with Kellett to improve a gun midfield they can push Tanunda in 2012.Was told Kellett is a zero point players?

Trial games are just that so don't get overawed by any results. I thought it was Kellett, he's been to some clubs in his time. I reckon he's got to be worth some points unless he played juniors there which he didn't, that was at Salisbury I think.

Surely you people should know by now that its common practise to exaggerate the quality of teams playing in a trial match. When someone says 12 blokes are missing, take that with a pinch of salt, it may be 5 or 6. When someone says they are close to full strength, they are usually foxing also.
What you can be sure about in pre season trial games, is that you cant read too much into results... What you want to see is the effort and fitness levels of some of the younger players trying to make the grade. A lot of the veterans dont even bother with Trial games.

Feeling played Virginia yesterday and beat them easily. Dan Hornsell kicked 8 and will give some Full backs a few headaches. Benny Parish made a welcomed return.
Red legs should make a good account for themselves this year and play september football.

Made the drive down to gawler today to have a look at the south addossan game. While it was a little scrappy and took a bit to break open south looked very fit and skills where pretty good once they opened the game up. Also south looked well undermanned and where missing a fair few quality players Heath Lawry was amoungst the players that didn't play along with Leigh Makras, Jack McVicker also missing and a few more without naming them all. Good signs with a real young side and throw in a couple of the older guys that have returned and new recruits only going to get better as the season gets underway. Also while it looked like new recruit and full forward Trewen only played the first half of the game he spent a bit of time playing in the goal square and out at centre half forward he was catching nearly everything that came his way and took some real strong one on one marks and contested marks and looked really comfortable playing deep body on body in the square or leading up and hitting through the footy. Looked to be fairly fit and think he may of finished with atleast four at half time. If he can stay and mantain his fittness and avoid injury i think he will be a great pick up and cause some head ache's for a few full back's this year. Will definately be an assett and look for south to start moving up the ladder and being more than competitive with all teams this year not just the bottom few with them really struggling and not having a target or a real vocal point up forward last year and probably should have won a few more games than they did losing a hand full by under a kick or two. Also the bloke that wears the helmet and plays up forward think his name is geradis he was very handy and kicked a bag full easily. With south only lacking a few scoring options and avenues to gaol last year and looking like they have recruited well and got that sorted out this year i would think and expect them to win a few more games and be really competitive this season. Not sure they quite have the side to play deep into the finals but can see them winning a few more games and making their way north on the ladder this season.

They were competitive in patches, a taller side than South and had a few decent looking footballers. I reckon their full forward must have kicked at least 7. Their skills were not too bad but their fitness was nowhere near Souths.

That presumably would have been McKeough, ex South Adelaide and Reynella.

It seems most clubs are having a minimum of 2 even 3 trial games, should be a hot ball come round 1.
Believe that Barossa played Hahndorf or Lobethal on the weekend and won. Think that was there 3rd trial.
