Where did you get that? The AFL site this morning suggested GWS were actively interested.
They said on the radio that GWS was going to go very hard to get him as well. If I was Adelaide I would can talks with the Swans and work solely on getting a deal done with GWS. Then even if Tippett refuses to go to GWS, they'll just pick him up in the PSD anyway.
That fits with what I read. I suspect "overloaded" is one of those Port supporters always wishing the Crows ill from being overloaded with resentment of the Crows relatively better form in the AFL, and Port not getting the first licence...

I can't see anywhere in Graham's post where he suggests this is the first time it has happened. Yes it has happened for years and Tippett is manipulating the system to suit himself right now, which is why we're analysing it right now.
Crows supporters are annoyed, just like supporters from every other club have been annoyed when it has happened to them

Surely, if tippetts contract has expired he is free to go in the psd. The same as blokes who dont get offered a new contract. He has fulfilled his contractual obligation.
It could be interesting to see what happens if he does make his way to the PSD. Everyone says he will be on close to $1M a year at Sydney but Sydney have come out and said he will be payed less than if he stayed in Adelaide. Maybe Sydney would struggle with his price tag if he puts to much on his own head? I'm starting to think his contract offer from Sydney maybe heavily weighted towards the end of the contract so some other highly paid players may have retired by then. If he puts a $1M a year figure on his head moving into the PSD does that mean he has to be paid $1M the next year or its ok as long as over the duration of his contract he averages the $1M a year?
I understand what you are saying there Bigshow82. Yes they can front end his contract where he could average 1m a year but be paid 2m,1,1,500k,500k in each year for example. This could be something GWS do as their kids are probably not yet at the stage where they can demand the huge dollars.

In the previous years there has also been no free agency which is now in place. If he had played two more years he could do this as a restricted free agent and all that had to happen was Sydney offer him $$ and if the Crows dont want to or cant match he walks. The AFL would then decide on the Crows compensation (i believe??). Heard he has said he will only go to Sydney today? If GWS want him and they are able to offer what he wants then I thought that he has to go there? Or sit out of footy altogether?

Apparantely Jesse White was here today doing testing? I would take him and pick 22 for Tippett. This is better than getting nothing and puts the whole thing to bed. White hasnt shown a heap at Sydney but players have been given opportunities at other clubs and gone up a level. He doesnt have the potential of Tippett but Tippett is gone so it is really irrelevant comparing them now anyway. Sydney are not going to give up a player like Reid which would be the closest like for like and in the end they dont have to so White and pick 22 would be ok IMO.

Talk back in Perth suggests people here are disgusted with Tippet too. I stick with my original statement let the prick go through the PSD Sydney can stick 22 up their arse. Footy gods exist and Sydney will be the loser in coming years paying the bloke inflated money leaving their depth tested. I'm not pissed off he's going but the way he has held Adelaide @ ransom is a disgrace. I know how Collingwood feel with Cloke and how port did with Stevens now.

unsure about that as he doesn't have a contract
he is still a listed player. if the crows receive a player in the draft they still have 3 spots left on their list.
