Cant disagree with your selections there Pinarello.
Str v Nairne - Strath have a very even team with good depth in batting & bowling as do Nairne. Nairne being the more attacking side of the 2 get the nod here although that could be their undoing as well.
Ash v Creek. - Would be a few decades since Ashbourne would've started faves in an 'A' grade match against the Creeks but would be favoured here. The quality of Ashbournes recruits are still a little unknown but have undoutedly strengthened them whilst the Creeks have been decimated with a loss of players from last year but showed some fight with the ball and bat on Saturday denying Strath an outright. They'll be looking to build on that effort tho seems to be a bit of a lottery as to what players will be available from week to week.
Woodside v Wistow - Woodside have been impressive to start the season and look to be clear faves here despite Wistow winning their first 2 games. They'll need a more even contribution from their batsmen to trouble Woodside here.
Hahn v Lobey - Could go either way here - Hahndorf with plenty of youth in their team will have theirs ups & downs over the season but are capable of pushing for a top 4 spot whilst it appears Lobethal are taking time to adjust with a loss of personel from last year.

How is Luke Harrowfield settling in at Nairne this year. He is sorely missed at Imps this year as they have been beaten in their first 2 encounters.

Selections for the coming round -
Sat 27 Oct, 3 Nov(1:00 PM) Strathalbyn v Nairne Strathalbyn Oval - Nairne are a quality team, and despite not having a great record on the turf I expect they will win.
Sat 27 Oct, 3 Nov(1:00 PM) Ashbourne v Langhorne Creek Ashbourne Oval - The Creek have been poor to date, will give the nod to Ashbourne on their home ground.
Sat 27 Oct, 3 Nov(1:00 PM) Woodside v Wistow Woodside Oval (no. 1) - Wistow have improved, but Woodside will be too good for the Echidna's.
Sat 27 Oct, 3 Nov(1:00 PM) Hahndorf v Lobethal Hahndorf Oval - Looms as a very interesting battle and could go either way. Lobethal have been sluggish, and Hahndorf were looking down the barrel after being skittled for 76 at Nairne. Will pick Lobethal, but only just.
Any other thoughts guys??
After last rounds effort of 1 from 4 I will politely decline your kind invitation. Perhaps in a week or two once my self-esteem has recovered

Re: Adelaide Hills Cricket 2012/13 (HCA, TVCA, A&EH)
Round 3 Tips for the A&EH
Nairne over Strath in a close game on turf
Creek over Ashbourne in another close one
Woodside too strong for Wistow
Hahndorf over Lobethal only just home ground advantage
As for the Hills comp i have mentioned before they should approach sides to join for example Flagstaff Hill, Kangarilla & maybe promote someone for B grade who wins the flag this year???? Just a thought, any other thoughts on that idea lads???
TVCA Score updates & Hills?????

TVCA Round 2:
Mt Torrens 149 v Gum 3/70. Good effort from Gum given their 2 main bowlers were missing.
Palmer 223 v Cambrai 0/9. Rathjen 98 in what should be a match winning knock.
Birdwood 50 v Paracombe 4/240. Hills 6/17, easy outright coming up for Pirates.
Eden Valley 77 v Lenswood 4/116. Wickets shared for us, while EV's batting was terrible. We will push for outright.

We have 8 teams in A and B grade which worked really well last season and hopefully again for this year. There is good competition in the A Grade and i'd be pretty certain that no club would be willing to travel the distances required.
TVCA should have been considering something a few years ago before the 2 best teams went to a different competition. Sure the HCA could follow their lead, let meadows etc go elsewhere and just let 8 - 10 b grade side play in the "A-Grade" but I don't think that's the idea.....
Spot on 2jox.
In affect that is what the TVCA is now - B graders pretending to be A graders. I can however appreciate the travel factor.
I don't understand what is meant by "considering something a few years ago". Do you have an understanding of why those 2 clubs left the association? You seem to think that Lobethal and Woodside made the TVCA. We are doing perfectly fine without them. From alot of the posts i'm reading, it seems as if all the problems are with the HCA and A&EH competitions. As for "B graders pretending to be A graders", there are plenty of quality players who would easily slot into any of the A grade sides from other associations. Also, where did A&EH finish in the recent Meyer Shield compared to the TVCA even after the move of those 2 clubs?
Im pretty sure Torrens Vally were just as bad as A&EH last Meyer Shield. They both lost on the first day. Then i think T.V got to play kangaroo island the second day and won. Does that really count as doing better? Even against K.I Peter hills got torn apart and he was supposed to be their best bowler... i would definitely rather face him than any of the bowlers from A&EH. Ive seen col hacket from lobethal bowl more heat that him...

Can report first hand that Australia's Fastest Bowler - Andrew Frohling - is still terrorising batsmen with his fiery, fearsome deliveries.
Hit me square on the ribs on Saturday (off the long run too) and had me gasping for air... Frightening to say the least.

The Big Ship, wow that's fantastic that Frohling is fit and firing again. Long run as well god i bet he is sore, i see Rohan Reid got a 100 odd first game of the season fair effort. Who will stop the might Meadow lads this season or will it be four in a row????
Uraidla?
Aldgate?
Onkaparinga?
Scott Creek Ironbank?
Mt Lofty?
Any thoughts lads??????
A lot of one day games in that comp so anything could happen, but Jesus Christ coming back to life is more realistic than Meadows getting done i think
TVCA who will win the flag?
My guesses would be either Gums, Paracombe, Palmer & Lenswood. Could go either way & the GF will be a close one who ever plays in it.

I had heard this, I faced him a few years back in his 18th straight over and he was still one of the fastest I have faced, mind you I was 6th wicket for the day. The man can zip them down!

long day if frohls is coming of the long run again... he'd need a weeks rest in between balls.

Yeh, it seems to be going around, possibly contagious, and may become an epidemic. Fortunately only a relative few seem to have suffered to date.

A big congratulations and hip hip hooray to the Hahndorf Cricket Club who this week withdrew their A2 team in favour of their C grade. Way to go in stuffing up the A2 draw and loading a lower grade team with fringe A grade players. Surprising the AEH Association allowed this given Hahndorf competed in the B Grade Grand Final last year after sitting top for most of the season. Relegation must be the price paid for a GF loss.
