they would lose some picks in the first or second rounds for a couple of years Id reckon, they would have picks later in the draft and rookie drafts to replenish the squad in line with AFL changeover rules.

its going to take some real smart recruiting to get thme through this scenario, pity they sacked the best bloke in the business

Cheers mate .. Here's some further questions/ingredients that are all speculative, but if anyone thinks politics is reserved for Canberra they're kidding themselves .. So could any of the following have a bearing on what penalty is handed down?

- Were the Crows "nudged" by the AFL to sack Rendell, so are they owed a "favour"?
- Will the AFL temper the penalty, by their (and the Crows) desire for an AFC reserves team?
- Will it have an affect on the price of the Crows license in its dealings with the SANFL?

Regardless of how it all pans out, I think some of these points will be referred to as "reasons why" the penalty was XYXY

I'm surprised the Hawks haven't picked up him. Fit right in with the Burgoyne, Cheney, Hale, Lake, Spangher, Skipper, Bruce recruiting model.

Just curious which SANFL club was Tippett aligned with. If he ends up back at Adelaide is there a chance they'll make him play SANFL all year? Expensive decision I know but would kind of send a message I think.

You forgot Dew and Gibson

And the difference with Geelong is?????? McIntosh and Rivers.
Lake will play more games than McIntosh, hell even Spangher probably will

Take Burgoyne out of that lot, had a solid 2012 and has 2-3 more years left in him.

I see Kurt Tippett may be going into the Draft. That's exciting. Wonder what he would look like in orange.

The only orange Crows supporters would like to see Tippett in.

serious question:
Do you think Kurt is now regretting his decision to leave Adelaide?

Not really having a go at the ability of the players, more the direction of recruiting. And yeah I did forget one or two others as Daisy has pointed out. You really need to win flags if you are recylcling this amount of players, kicking yourself out of Grand finals and coughing up three quarter time leads in Prelim finals doesn't really cut it.

Burgoyne is talented...the Hawks would love him to be able to go in the engine room for longer than he can and Hale has been more than serviceable. Gibson big deal any mug can go third up....look at Nick Maxwell.

Every club should always be bigger than any individual, but there's a fair chance now the Crows through their own fault, have made Tippett one of, if not the, most famous name in the clubs history
