Thanks for the scores. If anyone was at the game a match report would be very much appreciated.

So from a "very poor crowd" to...

"Maybe 4000" to...

"8000-9000".

Wow!

Who won the car stealing contest?

CENNALS final score

Dogs 12.11
Pies 11.07

Delta 4 goals
J Westhoff 3 goals 5 pts
Callinan 3 goals

Westhoff really soared in the air tonite and took some mighty fine grabs but his kicking let him down.

It was a tight hard fought contest all night, i reckon Pies got the best of the frees but anyway thats footy.

Chris Gowans came off in the 7 minute mark of the last qtr what semed to be a corky or some thigh strain???

Doggies now have 6 wins in a row.

Christ, Port got closer than I thought they would, just glad I took the $1.40 for a straight win and didn't try to get even money with points in.

Forgot to mention come alive CLIVE SHITHOUSE whilst on the south east pocket, to me it looked like he got a cupla punches into a doggy player while he was on the ground, i was quite a distance away so did not see it clearly ,did any other fans see it or was it an optical illusion ?????

Woo hoo. A win over the OTHER ferals (if you believe the rest).
Well done boys - didn't sound smooth. But to me rough wins over classy opposition's very important.

Thanks for the message about my pic Bulldog Pommy. Hope you enjoy the FA.

Thought the crowd was alot more than 4000. More like 6000-7000.

Game was tight in close . Thought dogs were very poor in patches, we made some terrible errors in the second quarter. In saying that ports pressure was fantastic. A very tight contest but very poorly umpired in the Last half. Summerton was awesome. Waterhouse gave Currie a touch up. Hargraves sadly for North fans looked fit and dangerous . Lecras was W.O.G. HE obviously couldnt feel his ankle with the injections as he kicked 20 metre floaters on the occasions he got the ball.

For the dogs Schell was BOG IMHO. Callinan Thomas Osullivan Wilson Slattery J,Gowans also played well.Thought J, Westhoff was fantastic in the first half but really struggled in the last.

Dogs six from six :D .

BTW Brian Leys (ports runner) is the SANFLs John Barnes. Ports seventh defender basically.

For those playing Port in the future keep an eye on it.

Would love to know how many holding the balls there were tonight. SOme of the chase down tackles tonight were terrific from both sides.

Terrific, high standard game throughout that epitomised the SANFL. Hard, tough footy, with only the odd dust-up that was quickly defused. J. Westhoff's 2 big marks within 5 mins of each other in the 2nd term were worthy of being repeated on TV. If only he'd had his kicking boots on (3.6), could have made a very big mess of things. Callinan was quieter than usual, but maintained his 3 goal a game average since joining the Dogs. Slattery racked up plenty of possessions, and his disposal improved after 1/4 time to be a real influence. Schell must be falling under notice from the umpires for the Magarey also - dropped back many times to take the relieving grab deep in defence.

Interesting to watch Port have Hargraves as their major focus, with Waterhouse playing a "foil" role. Hargraves had a massive first half, and also threatened to blow the game right open, but Central nullified him well in the second. J. Clayton had the ball on a string much of the time, and was given surprising latitude early, but his class was personified so many times - able to take on much bigger opponents and win the footy repeatedly. LeCras also bobbed up with 4, and his second half was exceptional. Greenwood a little quiet as he adjusted to the increased attention, but showed enough to indicate he will be a real player of the future. Also impressed with the first gamer (at 25!), Bradley Murray - plenty to like about his poise and coolness under pressure.

Didn't think there was much wrong with the umpiring, although Westhoff not being paid a good mark in the last term was a little mystifying (possibly touched?). Anyone who made the journey, whichever team they supported, would have been happy with the game.

Hargraves looked alot fitter Wedgie. Seems to have dropped a few kgs from last year.

Three decisions in the last quarter that were simply unbelievable by the umps.

Cochrane palms the ball to a loose doggie player like the ruckman have done all night which was considered a throw.

Westhoffs clear mark that wasnt paid.

Wilson getting a free kick against him for asking how was that not holding the ball in the last quarter (not his exact words ofcourse).

Any official crowd figures as yet ???
