Agreed on Leys, however it's not only ports runner doing it. It almost appears that some runners are under instruction to clog up gaps in the zone.

6673, considering the poor conditions, extremly good in the end.

Not sure what game some of you were watching,I thought that it was a shithouse game with the Doggies making far too many silly mistakes.Wasnt a good perfrormance by the Dogs but any win is a good win.Currie was actually on Hargs and got thrashed, just not tall enough so maybe next time Sibenaler a better option. To be honest too much Currie gives me the SHITS.

Currie would have to be up there with Paul Northeast as one of the worst players ever to win multiple premierships.

Currie is a better player than most would give credit to.

He is simply proof that you don't need a personality to play league footy.

I agree with you DW that he is underrated by everyone outside of the CDFC.

That is a very narrow minded statement.Paul Northeast had some trouble with his disposal method,no doubt, but to consider him one of the worst multiple flag winners is obsurd.

7,yes 7 flags mean you must be capable of playing in a good side, crap players dont do that for 7 flags.

Unfortunately I have to agree with Booney. When the doggies played the wharfies the player that Northeast was on was usually beaten. He did what a good defender should do - like Currie does - and stopped his man from scoring.

The portion of your brain that contained the words "Darren Smith" must have been excised.

a player who "flukes" one or two flags in a good team could be considered lucky...Not seven though.

He wasn't pretty but he did a job week in and week out, pushed the boundaries of the laws....but face it we would have loved it if he played at our clubs insetead of Port.....
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

But he didn't. That means non-port-supporters are obliged to give him crap.

"Flukes" one or two flags?

So a team can win flags with non-performing passengers? And the passenger we are talking about here was in his position week in week out - he didn't get a sudden call up in the finals for an injured player.

I can accept that occasionally a team might fluke a flag but would suggest that all players in such a team (except the example of a sudden call-up) would have earned their place.

That isn't my point as I'm with you highly unusual for any premiership player to fluke a flag (Cam Mooney 1999 & A Keating 1997 possibly) some people are inferring Northeast is lucky to be a premiership player I say no way as he could play as he demonstrated for over 10 years.
Let that be a lesson to you Port, no one beats the Bays five times in a row in a GF and gets away with it!!!

Paul Northeast was one of the toughest players I have seen play the game. An awkward looking kicking action, but very accurate over 30-35 metres. Extremely fast for his size and I understand he still holds SA junior sprint records. Not many of his opponents got an easy kick and he bled for the jumper - the type of player that premierships are built around.

I was and even managed to get into the rooms afterwards as the boys belted out the song :D :D . I thought it was a good, hard game with some brilliant passages of play from both teams. This game was over-officiated at times but was still a fine example of SANFL footy at it's best. The crowd was to be expected considering the weather and it still totalled more than the other 3 games put together. Hamra-6673, the rest-5708.
