What are peoples thoughts for A1 A2 & A3 player of the year?
A3 will be either Gabb from Reynella with 588 runs, or Pannach from Reynella with 45 wickets, or watson from HV with 580 runs
Wilkins 460 runs @ 50 and 23 wickets @ 12 is pretty handy, sneaky chance

They said the pitch was completely underwater... I'm pretty sure sprinklers can't do that!

They can depending how long they are left on for...
And to be clear on this specific case, it sounds like sabotage from the higher placed team.
My comments about council etc were of a general nature

Maybe it was from the incredible torrential rain we had hit Adelaide

Re: Adelaide Turf Cricket Association 2012 - 2013
We at Ingle Farm experienced this problem with water some 5 or 6 years ago. We made i think 210 on the Saturday only to rock up to our home ground on the Sunday and find it under water. We had finished Minor premier and was heading back to A2. Not really knowing how the sprinklers came on (with over 200 in a semi you would back yourselves) the players had a vote to decide if we forfeit the game. The vote came to forfeiting the game as we didnt want to be seen as cheats. We investigated the matter on the Monday and fpund out that someone from the council had re programmed the timers. The sprinklers came on early hours of Sunday morning instead of Monday. Now that was no fault of Ingle Farms and we cant control some mug from the council but we didnt want the stigma of being cheats. Every year there is a story over watered pitches, is it time from Neutral Grounds again?
I did hear Fulhams oval is not council watered?

No one doubts that people make mistakes, councils especially.
In finals tho, it should be the home teams responsibility, even if the council makes a mistake, its on the home team to do everything in their power to make sure nothing goes wrong. If it does however, its bad luck to the home team, they lose.
The secret impresses no one. The trick you use it for is everything.

Wilson from SHOCS will get it. Has the same amount of wickets as Cam, but lots more runs.

2 horse race?
Wes Thomas, Grange.
740 runs @ 82.22
15 wks @ 24.53
Paul Duffet, Woody Rec.
635 runs @ 63.50
21 wkts @ 15.62
Ill go with one horse race, seeing as Duffet made 200 odd in his last game.
Wes Thomas is my pick.
Duffet's highest score other than that 201* was only 57.
Not many people would be disappointed with 635 runs and 21 wickets but I am sure if you asked him he probably not that happy.
Re: Adelaide Turf Cricket Association 2012 - 2013
Fulham really have no choice now - they must forfeit both games.
No matter who is to blame, this is the only honourable thing to do.
There are some good people at Fulham, would be staggered, and extremely disappointed, if they have not already advised ATCA of this decision.
The whole clubs good reputation hinges on this, otherwise they will be known as "cheats" for years to come, rightly or wrongly, whereas they would earn enormous respect by going the other way.
Hope common sense prevails!

I hope so too. Will make a very interesting association night for them if they claim the win. In a room like that, cheats and bad sportsmanship is made well known!

Forget A1 to A4, the main game is in C2's this week
.
Amazing game for us in our Semi with 8 LBW's out of 10 wickets awarded against us and 11 for the match. 6 LBW's out of 10 wickets for our grand final competitors Walkerville.
Shows you what happens when you don't see an official umpire during the regular season.

Re: Adelaide Turf Cricket Association 2012 - 2013
What I find amazing is that a lot of these grounds that have sprinkler troubles very rarely have this problem during the season when Juniors are playing, yet when Senior Finals come around the issue pops up.
Councils do water on weekends. Went to Edwardstown Oval two weeks in a row with a Junior side South Central and both days sprinklers had been on. This was a number of years ago but just proves it does happen.
Neutral Grounds would be way too hard for all Grades. Which is why it's only the 4 A Grade comps that do it. However a rule needs to be put in place that if you are hosting a Final on your Home Venue you must provide a suitable ground for play, otherwise you forfeit.
Rain and vandalism are still problems that would occur but you can't cover everything.

If the council's sprinklers switch on, how can someone at the club prevent that?

100 percent correct the council between late jan and early feb go around to each ground and set the computer timer....... now if paper work is not passed on to let me or who ever is doing it then thats unlucky and normally 3-4 days after the problem is resolved
i know i use to do some ovals around the northern areas pooraka and para hills are some that come to mind that i didnt know if they made finals or not and didnt care i done my job and when i got a call to go back out and fix it normally was 3-4 days later
club calls up council....council then does paperwork to send down the correct channels sometimes takes 1-3 days from your call depends how busy they are at time and if an error has occured then the issue is normally resolved in 2-3 days
i have worked on 3 different councils and unless told not to set sprinklers they all get set over FEB,MARCH
