In years gone by our facilities were rubbish and we couldn't really offer a place to share a beverage after the game but look forward each week now to sharing the new clubhouse with visiting teams. It is one of the nice things about local footy that you can still feel welcome in opposing club rooms at the end of a day's work.

I'm actually pretty disappointed with this as well no.43 - I said to Weasel that if I didn't have somewhere else to be pretty early on in the night I wouldve let you buy me a drink ;)

However I'll leave the official response to S Demon 8)

It is one of the nice things about local footy that you can still feel welcome in opposing club rooms at the end of a day's work.

Probably a number of things contributed to it:
1) The players (especially those who cramped up) were instructed by our Head Trainer to head back to the club immediately for an ice bath, of which most did
2) Although one probably isn't needed, i don't think anyone from Pooraka stuck their head in and invited the boys to a free squash, which may or may not have made a difference
3) I'm pretty sure most of the players were either buggered, were struggling from the heat and/or were extremely disappointed and wanted to just get out of there

I for one would have liked to have come in after the game as well, but after playing c grade and leaving home at 8.45am and then standing in the sun all day to watch the B's and A's, I had also had enough. Not to mention i received a phone call that we needed some more ice for the ice bath back at the club. So I apologise on behalf of the HVFC for our players not coming in after the game. We will reciprocate your offer after our return clash

Turk, Chief - how's Geppy finding his new club? He's a top bloke and a hard taskmaster, if nothing else, you'll have a fit team this year!

I trained for the first time out at Greenacres last Tuesday and it took until Saturday morning to get rid of the soreness in the legs. Very high intensity but also very refreshing.

I guess not doing much of a preseason and making a late decision to shift clubs doesn't help.

Solid (and hot) hit-out for Pultney vs Heccies on a quality deck, it was looking in very good nick! Was good to see the bald-one back in his junior colours and winning his own share of the footy as usual! 50/50 contest all day with heccies pulling away with a 1/4 and a bit to go. Pultney played some quality footy, The 2 x Blues CHF's had some good hands and didnt drop a thing all day. Have to say Perrie has left a big hole but they challenged well and from the sidelines they did look a bit underdone. Unfortunately the blues were let down with a few cheap free's 20m out in front from where I was sitting for undisciplined actions by the same 2 x guys. On a sour note, I hope the Pultney coaches/senior players have some punishment for the player who spat on a heccies player during the game. I am all for niggling, cheap ones and trash-talk but that crosses the line.. spitting on someone is not warranted in any form of sport. I hope the grown-man is embarrassed at his child-like actions.

Other than that!! Footys back!

Do you have a number of said player?

Seem to recall a Hectorville player got a taste of his own medicine last season and didn't like it...

We had some heat in our games vs hectorville.
I'm looking forward to playing them this week.

number is irrelevent, nor do i remember.

Does the incident last year relate to spitting? if so, its disgusting and not needed.

im all for rough and tumble (gives us supporters a kick!) just not spitting on someone

i only caught one game last year and you gave heccies a hiding at daly oval! a new look heccies team lacks a certain pair of brothers so id expect some less heat out there!

So you thought it best to take a potshot at an unnamed player behind a pseudonym? I know plenty of players at Pulteney and If you could identify the player I may be able to confirm your story and provide some facts to the incident

IIRC last years incident related to a Hectorville player retaliating to a bit of niggle that I classed as acceptable in higher levels by kicking his opponent. But that was last year.
