Recruits this season
Now that names might actually mean more to most fans, which new recruits have come along this season for each club, where are they playing and how are they doing?
For Centrals, we have:
League:
Callinan, Magarey chance
Lawry, would be in top 10 B+F ATM IMHO.
Grima, looks great at FB, and working well with Schell
Slattery, looks great. What was he doing at West?
Goodrem, has a great future. Looking more and more assured each game.
Reserves:
Pfitzner, playing well and pressing for a league spot, but tough to get past some of the big men there already.

Re: Recruits this season
For the Double Blues
I have seen Crane and Darling play a couple of exceptional games this year - Gum has also played very well each week he has played.
These 3 blokes have to be up there for our best recruits this year so far - I know that they get a game every week in front of a couple of other recruits but they are earning there spot every week and some.

Re: Recruits this season
For the Eagles:
Adam Klun - has surpassed expectation so far, kicked a goal in almost every game and has proved to be very handy as a small forward.
Ben Schwarze - Big name recruit was dropped to the reserves after a few weeks and injured an ankle. Came back last week in the reserves and should be pushing for a league spot, but at this stage, has not adapted to SANFL league footy.
James Rimington - Played a couple of games in the league before being dropped to reserves and injuring an ankle. Should be back in the reserves after the bye. Has shown some positive signs, but will be looking to work on his game to give him a chance of league selection.
Luke Duncan - recruited from the country after some games with Port a few years ago. Looks ok, but a fringe player at best.
Jon Lee - young ruckman in the reserves will be a project player and looks good for coming years if he sticks with the club. Capable of filling in should Dabrowski or Lindsay get injured.
Nathan Batsanis - picked up as a rookie by Port Power and selected number 9 in the mini-draft. Looks a real find. Goal kicking flanker who reminds me very much of Chris Knights in his first year at the club.
George Pedler - has performed well in the reserves.

Luke Crane has been an absolute standout, just runs and runs, can find the ball and win it and can kick great goals
Ryan Darling started in a blaze of glory, tapered off a bit but was good against Westies
Tristan Gum I think will be a long term player for us, has all the skills and can kick goals, and has been consistently good for us so far
a couple of young guys floating around the 2nd's who are doing OK such as Weir, Tomlinson and Avery who should push for senior selection at some stage

Re: Recruits this season
From a South point of view the main 3 have been:
Prendergast- Servicable but need more. Still finding his niche in the side.
McGrath- At his best, very good. Havent seen it enough though.
Maddox- Another good pick up. Hard at it.

Re: Recruits this season
must echo the crane comments on here for the blues....listening on the radio and watching the replays of some games, he has been fantastic and has come up big in the tough moments as well as just playing consistently great footy.
will push for B&F for sure.

Did he ever.
But it was more than a victory for Greece. It was a stirring example to free people throughout the world of what a few brave men can accomplish once they refuse to submit to tyranny.

Re: Recruits this season
Crane, Darling and Gum have been excellent recruits for us. A few other lads will have their chance or are starting to impress, Gregory, Turner, Avery, Tomlinson, Weir, Fittoch, Brooks, Sharples and Fitzgerald.

Re: Recruits this season
At the Legs:
McGuiness - Having a stellar season, would be up there with Callinan as possibly best recruit of the year
Woenamerri (sp?) - Young but has great touch, is lively and dangerous in front of goal, a great pickup for the Legs.
Wynne - Only a teenager, but looks to have a great future, moves well with all the necessary skills and toughness, will see senior time at some staqe I'd imagine.
Vallejo - Took a little while to perhaps pick up the pace of the comp, but is quick and attacks the ball and body, should get better and better.
Jericho - N/A
Hope I haven't missed anyone, Im sure I'll be corrected if thats the case though.

Tristan Gum has been great for us too this year. I didnt think he would have this kind of impact at the start of the season but ill happily be proved wrong.

Ed McDonnell - had a solid game as a key defender in reserves last week. Had injury problems prior to this.

David Rodan - cant get a game at Norwood!
Kenrick Tyrell - played a few league games and has shown a bit of promise but is clearly still making the transition from amateurs to league.
