Does anyone else think Tremletts action looks dodgy?

Batsmen will make mistakes early in their innings, been happening since the game began. No matter the deck or the attack, you're going to get out early at times. What kills you though is when blokes get a start and don't go on with it. Warner, Watson and now Smith all batted for a while and score just over 100 between them when 200 would be a pass for 3 international batsmen.

I've reserved judgement on Watson at 3, but now I've decided he's just not the man. He's a prodigious talent with bat in hand, but he seems to be able to attack or defend. There's no middle ground where he can make runs safely all day that a true #3 can do. Batted himself into a hole then got out. I'm with Ponting on this one, Clarke needs to be our #3.

A lot riding on Haddin and Johnson here. Thankfully they both have the ability and record to do it, but 1 more and things look really dire.

No. Not sure his arm is perfectly straight, but it doesn't appear to straighten at all.

At least the Australians are playing entertaining cricket.

Some of these chancers need to focus less on the big mouthed mental disintegration pre-series tactics and more on learning whether you use the flat or bumpy bit of the bat when they're out there.

Though with the expected weather forecasts you would think there will be some cloud cover around, potential moisture in the pitch therefore abit of assistance for the bowlers over the next couple of days.

Much like the tours of India and England we win enough sessions (for me today was 1 to Aus, 1 to Eng, 1 split) but when we have a poor session it is a very very very poor session.

Always feel like batting into day 2 is a victory of sorts. Harris no mug and Haddin obviously playing well. 350 still a chance and that's a decent total. Not the domination we perhaps expect too readily but if we bowl well we are in this.

I really like the simplicity that Johnson bats with and it works so well. Thought Healy's criticism earlier about not being able to hit enough singles was rough for a #8 who is mostly a bowler.

Sometimes a bent arm can look like that, probably just a symptom of massive biceps.

First ball he faced was the only one he looked comfy with.

No surprise there, averaged 18 at shield level last year, no good in the longer forms.
Bad when MJ looks far more accomplished at the crease
