The ATO. I lodge my income tax return last October (knowing I have to pay). No paperwork received after a while so I get my accountant to contact them mid December. "Yes we've received your lodgement, we are running behind at the moment" was the ATO's reply. Mid February, still nothing so I call them myself. Same reply as back in December (at least I'm earning interest on their money). Last Thursday I receive a "Final notice to pay" overdue account letter with them threatening to issue a garnishee notice on me! No other correspondence from them apart from this .

If the shoe was on the other foot, and they were going up to Burnside Village to have coffee with the "better" people of Adelaide, you wouldn't hear one complaint from Elizabeth, and people would happily make the trek to go see them if thats what they wanted to do.
